    Desert Treasure Translation

I am trying to work out a troupe name and have scoured Arabic primers, but am still not sure of how to correctly word the phrase "Desert Treasure" in Arabic.

It is in reference to a dance troupe.

I found the Arabic root word for treasure is Kanz, but I want to feminize it a little to get Kanzah.

Is it as simple as "Sahara Kanzah"?

Or is the descriptor after the subject to get "Kanzah Sahara"?

Do I need to worry about making "treasure" plural?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Shukran!

    FYI

It would have to be kanz al-sahara for the phrase to make any kind of sense in Arabic. So you were close on your second try but you have to add the "al" (definite article "the") for it to make any sense as a phrase.

As for the kenza, eh I'm not sure if that word can be feminized like that. It's a noun, not an adjective. So you can't like just add the "a" to it. Don't get me wrong, I know a couple of Arab girls named kenza, it's a cute name. I just don't know that it makes any kind of sense in an arabic phrase like that because the noun in Arabic is masculine period.

Kanz al-sahara would mean "treasure of the desert" literally.

You can't say desert treasure in that same order in Arabic and have it make any sense. Hope that helps.

My opinion as an Arabic speaker is that it should be "kanz al-sahara" I think that's cute.

About making it plural, that's your call, the plural is kunooz. kunooz al sahara doesn't sound as nice as kanz-al-sahara imo

Thank you for the great information! This is one of the many reasons I need to get myself to Arabic language classes!

I agree, the plural version does not sound so great so I'll stick with singular.

Thank you so much for your help!
