Thread: L. Rose Designs - Anyone ordered?

In the interest of full discloure, I will say that in the past, I was unlikely to get much response from L. Rose via email. I don't know if this is still the case, as it does appear that they've increased their staff. I'm now in the habit of calling them anyway, so I'd be unlikely to start emailing them even if they have improved on that particular issue. I will admit to wishing they had an 800 number, though.

I think there was maybe one time when my order didn't come when promised, but I called and it was sent the very next day.

All in all, I think L. Rose provides spectacular service for a small, family run business. When you consider some of the "bad vendor" threads we've had in the past, I think it's amazing and commendable that the feedback is so overwhelmingly positive for Lora & Co.

I think that the difference is that even if something is wrong, or an order is in some way goofed up, there is no "well, you must have ordered wrong!" or ignoring you, it's decent customer service.

It makes a difference in the overall perception of a company when they will fix what they've done wrong.

I love lrose. I'm getting a straight skirt with 2 slits for an upcoming performance gold on gold holo fabric(which I apparently won't need, but can use in other things), and black super deluxe trumpet skirt, chiffon modesty panel, peek a boo cut outs on black on black holo, since they were out of metalskin :-(, but overall very excited.

I ordered from them 2 times over the phone and Absolute Perfection I recommend them highly :)

I've ordered tops, trumpet skirts, headbands, gloves and pants from L Rose. Everything is absolutely wonderful. For my birthday, I ordered the modified bellbottoms in black velvet. I love those pants and I wear them to work quite often. Great people to work with. Totally satisfied.

Now that my top has come in, I figured I'd give my final two cents.

Holy crap! I want a million of these banded half-tops with full pinch!!! They do seem to run small, since the large size fits me the way a medium usually does, but there's still enough room for the girls in there. The top is amazingly flattering with that full pinch, especially to someone with a short torso like me. I feel lovely in it, and am thrilled to have it.

I should add on a customer service note that when I said I was worried about having time to alter the top if necessary, they said "we'll put your performance date down as a week earlier than it actually is so we'll be sure to get it out in plenty of time." Nice!

I have to give them credit too - I sent in an order for myself and Kina. I had screwed up Kina's measurements and given her width as her height and vice versa (the numbers were fairly different and the result would have been completely wrong) - they noticed it, probably looked at their existing records, and asked me if I was sure...which let me go "oh crap, yes, reverse those two numbers".

I can't wait til my new L. Rose stuff comes in. I ordered silver metalskin pants with cut-outs and a chiffon-inset on the bell-bottom, and a fuschia holographic skirt with two slits (again, which I won't need for said group performance piece...but oh well.)

I'm thinking of getting a copper metalskin trumpet to go with my copper Great Loop. I'd like to get a slit with a chiffon modesty panel, what color chiffon do you think would be good? Black, maybe?

Also, my Great Loop is kind of orangey copper, does anyone have the copper metalskin? Is it more orangey or more brown?

Well, it turns out I gave them the wrong measurement for my dress length, so I had to hike up the dress at the hip and stitch it there temporarily for my performance. They'll fix it for me for $10 plus shipping (cutting it at the hip, rather than rehemming it) but I dunno, the dress just isn't working for me anyway, so I'm thinking I'll sell it and get another one.

Has anyone ever ordered a beledi dress from them with a pinched front? I got the regular neckline this time and I don't care for the way it looks on me.

I'm sooooooooo excited about my black (of course) holographic super deluxe trumpet skirt with peak a boo cut outs, and a chiffon modesty panel (apparently I need all bells and whistles) ! I can live without the other skirt, i'm unlikely to wear a straight skirt anyway, but, as you said, Nep, oh well!

I'm wondering how it looks from the back... it doesn't seem to be much different from the pinched sleeveless half-top....

Also are their chiffon circle skirts double-layer?

Another yes vote for LRose. They are THE most comfortable pieces you will ever wear. I have one of the dance bras like gwyncara's pic above. I will definitely be ordering more.

One of my friends got a skirt that wasn't finished, and was stained.

BUT!!!! When she called to ask about it, L. Rose sent her a new skirt immediately (before her show). So my friend was very happy with the experience...g.:

And a local troupe uses their stuff, it looks fab on all of them (different body types)!

I plan to order from L. Rose next time I need basics. No more skeezy Indian Ebay vendors for me!

Yup we order from them ALL the time!! Most of our troupe costuming is from them an I also order the "instant costume" for my beginner classs 4 times a year!
