Here it is... your April fitness thread! How's everyone doing? Any accomplishments? Setbacks?
I've been doing pretty good. I've added another day of working out to my schedule and am changing things up a bit.

135.2 this morning! I logged my weight into fitday, and noticed that the blue dot representing me is completely surrounded by yellow (the "healthy weight" color range on the chart), rather than half hanging off (like a muffin top) in the orange "moderately overweight" range.

Down 13 pounds since the beginning of the year! 1 1/2 inches off my hips, 1 inch off my waist, and 1/2 inch off my bust. Watching my diet and doing a lot of Dancing ..g.: . Walking on my treadmill and generally having a blast. Trying for 40 pounds in a year. Incentive...My parents who love me will match me dollar for dollar on a new costume if I lose at least 35 lbs.. Now that is what I call motivation to fitness.

Ok. Birthday celebration is over, so no more cake or whiskey. (or Guiness)
I am SO going to kick some butt this month. I'm WAY over where I was when I started watching my weight about a year ago....
I'm really disgusted with myself.
However, I am getting more active again. I'm dancing more, and my mom wants to start taking walks at night, which I'm cool with.
Now for the food thing. I was doing really well for a long time, but...I've relapsed on my eating. I'm eating junk and chocolate, and I'm DONE!!!
Its GOING to be a good month.

I lost 5 pounds (and kept them off!) in March. I'd like to lose 6 pounds this month. I started at 151 and am at 146. Would like to be at 140 this month.
I've found that staying the hell away from dairy makes a HUGE difference for me. My body goes crazy when I eat more than 1 serving. I'm also going to start walking EVERY day instead of every other day.

Congrats Gwyncara, Sedonia, Nakiajizeem! outstanding!
I've been struggling to get on the wagon for months now, but last week I stepped on the scale & really scared myself. I was in real danger of gaining back all the weight I'd lost. I've been back to logging daily on fitday for about four days now, and so far I've been able to keep my daily calories under control. I'm starting to feel a little stronger, and I've already dropped a couple of pounds.
(those I-must've-been-swelled-up-from-crappy-eating pounds I always drop right away when I start to eat right.)
My secret weapon at the moment: making giant pots of hearty soup so there's always something filling, low-cal & tasty in the house!

Well, I keep saying I am going to get started and this time I really do mean it. After stepping on those scales this morning, I did not like myself at all. Last night we had salad and chicken for supper but then I ate the rest of the Oreo cookies that were on the counter - bad, bad, bad!!!! lol Well, they are gone now and today is a new day so lookout, here comes a new me!!!!!! I have about thirty pounds to lose and I will aim for five pounds this month. Just have to stay on track!!!!

A lot of it is stress eating. I get worried, or depressed, and I decide that I need my KFC mac and cheese, and Jack in the Box for breakfast. And lets not even get me GOING on Starbucks. (although I have cut back for the last two weeks to ONE starbucks drink per day on Saturday and Sunday only...no more during the week for me.)
The biggest, and most difficult part though, is going to be resisting the chocolate that is in my office. In two of the three kitchens here, there is a candy basket with Reece's, M&Ms, Snickers...you name it. ..c::
I just love chocolate SO much!
It doesn't help, either to buy a thing of dove dark chocolate, because I can eat the whole freaking bag. I just need to work on my self control, that's all.
Its time to get back on the hummus and carrots kick. If I have 1/3 of a cup of hummus with some baby carrots...it fills me up, and it is WAY healthier than 2 bags of peanut M&Ms.
I can do this. I have a few modeling gigs coming up, plus I want to look good naked again. (he he he...I finally have a reason to be concerned about that.)
Not to mention the fact that I want to dance without a body stocking again, AND I want to order a Gold Great Loop. :)
I can do this!
Lets get healthy ladies!

After seeing a performance video of myself recently I was mortified, so I started doing the Jillian Michaels lose 20 lbs in 30 days challenge courtesy of Comcast. Lost 10 so far
I feel really good too. I'm doing this for me and my health, 20 more to go!!!! Come on girls, we deserve it! Congrats everyone!

My mom signed me up for a 5K April 16. I did 1.65 miles today and got back into my regular weight training/dancing schedule (I was on a break for some reason..oh yeah winter and being sick, lol). I also added a Sunday Salsa class to my repetoire! :) I bet the weight training will add some weight, but I dont care, as long as the dress sizes keep dropping ;)

Oh, no. I might be in trouble. An Italian restaurant opened in my tiny town, just a few blocks from my house. I have been driving by it for months now, thinking it was probably some fly-by-night operation that would go out of business quickly like the 3 previous businesses in the building.
Well, hubby and I went there this evening. An actual Italian family owns and operates it, have invested alot in decor and infrastructure, all the food is 100% homemade, and of course everything was delicious.
This may seriously undermine my calorie-counting.

I just wanted to get rid of 1 or 2 kilos to look good in my tight costume in a dance show next Friday.
Thankfully, I am very much into practicing my zill dancing right now, so I have been dancing at least 1 hour every day for the last weeks. I can hardly keep my fingers still anymore... ..g.:
Plus I am trying out the theory of "only eat every 5 hours, but then a real meal". Works very well for me because I have to admit - I will eat the same amount of food at noon, no matter if I had a chocolate bar at 9 AM or not.
But it only works on weekdays.
Last weekend I had a messed up schedule due to workshops etc. and only ate snacks every few hours - as a result I was constantly hungry!
So now it's back to feedings every 5 hours

BLA- im up 2 lbs to hanging around 161-162 still didnt put it all back on, I have a feeling that I wont be taking it off till the hub deploys. Right now we are eating and drinking way too much......

I'm with ya girl! I'm actually looking forward to hubby leaving for Italy in the morning. I'll miss him ..cr.: (he's been on "shore-duty" for the last couple of years), but it will be nice to not have to cook as much. I don't have to make huge meals because no one will need to take lunch the next day.

Went to the store today and tried on a pair of size 10 Levi's, and they fit!!!! Woo-Hoo!!!! Unfortunately, they didn't have any in "short", so I couldn't buy any. I also measured my waist and I'm down a half inch!! YEAH for me!!

The scales haven't moved for me... but they moved big time the time before, so I'm sure it will all balance out. I worked out a bunch last week, but I'm in Panic Sewing Mode trying to finish my homemade tribal belt before Saturday... so I've been sitting at the sewing machine a lot instead of playing the workout tapes... and I feel it! I'm going to have to stretch today, at least, my upper back is getting unhappy!
But I've gotten all the construction part done, and from here on out it's just sewing on the embellishments! Luckily I am going to cannibalize the tassels off a previous project, so I only have to sew 'em on, not make them! I'll post a picture when it's finished!
i figure if I pay attention to what I'm eating, at least I'm doing something right... that hummus and carrot thing sure sounds like a nice change of pace, though, yasmindiab!!

So I've finished by 4th day tracking calories on the daily plate and as of this morning I'm down 4.5 lbs... I know some is water weight but it was still nice to see the scale go down instead of up! I'm excited to see how this works out! :)

I am down to 133.4 (Sedonia, we are so close with our progress) and am officially a size 6 (several pairs of pants in several different stores don't lie!). One of the partners in the firm where I work even commented on the weight loss. I workout 3 times a week for 90 minutes with weights, dance a bunch on the weekends and watch what I eat. I use calorie-count.com and love it! 130 is my goal and it feels so close!! I am pretty happy about it all - I am a size smaller than when I met my husband 8.5 years ago.

Yeah, but you are a bit ahead, and I am still smack dab in the middle of size 8. I haven't been exercising enough. 130 is my goal also. I only hope my boobs don't get too small to fit into my teal costume -- I love it so. The girls are already -- well let's just say they have plenty of elbow room in the 36D bras I bought at VS just a few months ago.....cr.:

Im kinda addicted to training now. I went out yesterday in spite of having a bruise on my foot and a shoulder ache. I cooked, did the dishes and sat on the couch fully expecting to remain there because in addidtion to the physical issues, it was raining..well I sat there for about 5 minutes and had to get out. It even hailed on me. I took it easy, and I was so happy when I was done :)
And I was right, Im up 5 lbs- thanks weight training and jogging. But I do feel tighter, so thats something.Last edited by sumayasaahir; 04-04-2008 at 08:31 AM.

scales have not moved but the tape measure has. I'm hoping the scales will begin to catch up. I'm upping the intensity by adding boxing worksouts, so it's mainly circuits. I love it but I have to watch it doesn't aggrevate some tendonitis issues which would knacker the dancing. I'll check in again in 2 weeks.
