    L Rose Peek-a-boo??

Does anyone have the L. Rose peek-a-boo trumpet skirt? I am thinking about ordering one, but don't want to look too risque'. Also, I don't want my fat to squeeze out of the holes
How would it look with a great loop bra & belt?? What about if I added the chiffon bit to the split?
    Anyone have photos?
    Thanks

Hi, I have one on order in the new "black on black halographic lycra" L. Rose had at Rakassah West - flashy and slinky but it's not with the split it's a "superdeluxe trumpet" with the 8 panels and then peekaboo cutouts on each side of hip. Gulp! I am wearing it with a Great Loop because I don't want long fringe to obscure the cutouts. I also am getting peekaboo gauntlets in same black halo fabric. Hadn't really thought about fat "squishing out of cutouts" but I'm not getting it skin tight becaue lycra always fits tighter.
To answer your question about the slit - I did like it but not in the black/black lycra because too much of the "wrong" dull black side of fabric would show. With that fabric I think the chiffon insert is a very nice idea - just black chiffon would work with the black on black halo and offset the flashiness of the halo so that the skirt can be worn with lots of different bra/belts - gold, black, red with black accents. She doesn't have this new fabric on L.Rose website yet - if you are interested, have her send you a swatch - it's just as slinky as black metalskin and then halo flashiness is spectatcular, IMO.

Now I'm worried about the peekaboo cutouts on skirt - they are not exactly small .w.: hmm, if they are too much, I will just sew some stretchy sort of nude mesh.
I'll keep you posted on this skirt but it's very sexy and certainly the cutouts do not go all the way over butt or too much in front as some of the very daring cutout costumes I've seen on sites.

I have one and I love it! The split doesn't go up very high so you don't need chiffon, but it would probably look nice if you ordered it that way. The holes have to be placed directly on the side of your hip for it not to be too risque since the top hole is a bit wide. As long as you don't order it too tight there should be no problems with squeezage through the cutouts. I wore mine in front of my parents and they said it looked nice so it isn't too risque. And if you wear long fringe it will mostly cover the top hole anyways. I bet your great loop would look lovely with it, I think that the looped fringe would accentuate the cutouts in the skirt nicely. I'll try to post pics tomorrow after I get home from my exam.
    I hope this helps!

    1. mintaka, you look totally hawt! are the holes on both sides, or just the slit side? and if you get a wild hair, would you mind measuring how wide the holes are? I like sexy costumes, so I was surprised that I felt a little immodest in my new ladder-cutout-sides turkish skirt. wonder if I could pull this off and not feel nekkid...

    Re: L Rose Peek-a-boo??

Thank you elisagamal, you cheered up my day!
The holes are just on the slit side so I don't think you would feel nekkid (although I'm sure Lora would do both sides if you asked). I'd love to get one of those ladder cut skirts one day, but I'd probably feel nekkid too...
I just went to measure the cutouts and heres what I found: Lying flat the top one has a 4 inch diameter, the middle one is a 3 inch diameter and the bottom one is 2.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall. When I tried it on the height of the cutouts was the same but the width changed to being 6 inches wide for the top, 4.5 inches for the second, and 3 inches for the third.

interesting! I would have expected them to put something to prevent stretching of the circles...it seems like it would hurt the physical integrity of the skirt if the holes stretch....but obviously not. Lrose makes high quality stuffs!

    Re: L Rose Peek-a-boo??

I just ordered mine! Turquoise metalskin peek-a-boo. I decided against the chiffon insert because they said that the chiffon is lighter (color wise). Since I'll be using a silk veil that would be three different turquoise fabrics.
I had the idea though, to get the piece of chiffon and have them leave it unattached and just pin it in if I want it or leave it out when I don't. I'll post pics in about 4 weeks.
