Thread: how would you wear underwear?

with this costume?
i like the look of this costume, but how.. how.. would you wear underwear? nude shorts? i'm on a buying strike right now or rather my bank account is. but it caught my eye.. it's a puzzle!

Personally, I'd line that part of the dress with nude power mesh.
I've seen this done with other cutouts along the hip and it creates a smoother line so nothing can buldge out the holes - LOL

I'm not sure what to wear underneath, but have you noticed the skirt is sitting much higher on the doll than all other costumes? So keep in mind the front cutout V-shape will probably sit on just that part that you might not want to be adorned with a rhinestone V-shape..

that's what i was thinking! I always wonder what the costume designer's vision is...or maybe something changes between the design and the end result?

thats so weird tho... you can see the crotch and legs of the dummy THROUGH the lycra........I can't imagine what you'd see if I wore it!

It is a striking design - I can see how it would intrigue you

I'd be more concerned about how see-through it is than by the cut outs. I'd probably wear black shorts/briefs so people know I'm wearing something underneath, kinda like figure skaters and ballroom dancers.

I would probably line it from navel to over the bum - second or third ladder - with black mesh.

Just kidding, I would wear nude boy shorts, or take pantyhose and cut them off at the legs, so there is still that fleshtone under the cut outs, but you can feel secure that nothing is showing, and it will stop any bulging out!!

I think you could wear nude underwear, the kind that has a very thin string on the sides (it is not hard to find. It's basically full coverage in the front and the back, - not a thong nor g-string- but only 2 strings are holding it together. You would need to pull it lower in the front but it would still cover what needs to be covered :).
And safety pin the strings to the costume on the side.

I have a costume that I do that with on one side.

Other than that, nude shorts would be easy.
Of course you have o see how low the costume sits on your hips, because if it's much lower than on the mannikin, I don't think you could do the underwear.

They make undies with a clear plastic strap on each side, don't they? Fredericks of Hollywood would sell something like that, or Pierresilber.com perhaps....

Its a shame though, the costumes would be quite nice otherwise. What was the designer thinking at that moment in design

A thong, obviously, if you can't bear commando. It seems to me that costume is meant to be worn that high, btw.

I agree it is meant to be worn that high, so that the navel is framed by the cutout. Maybe there is a thong built in to the skirt?

I have a hard time liking the costumes on that website, they aren't presented in such a way that they look beautiful or high-end, they all look kind of cheap to me and like they wouldn't be very flattering. Maybe it's because of the fembots. I'd like to see some of those costumes on real dancers. But I'm so over lycra costumes.
