I just received my long awaited Pharonics teal costume..it is beautiful but a number of the pearl like beads already have the color scratched off of them. Is this common? I mean this was a custom made costume and brand new. Am I just being anal to expect a brand new costume to be perfect?
LOL

Re: Costume problems...
I personally do not think you're being anal. Someday I hope to have a full Pharaonics costume of my very own & I seriously think that with my odd measurements I'd probably have to bite the bullet and get one custom made. With all the additional cost$ associated with a custom order, how could you not be expected to be "anal" (disappointed, at the very least) about peeling/scratched off color on the beads (which are a big part of a Pharaonics costume's appeal IMHO)?

Re: Costume problems...
I think it's a problem with the plastic beads Pharonics uses. I have a green Pharonics and almost all the green tear drop and round beads are completely white. All of the paint has scratched and flaked off. But it's not just Pharonics, it's any costume that has plastic beads.
You'd think that with the amount of money you paid for Pharonics, they'd use better beads!!

Re: Costume problems...
(ahem: Bella uses better beads)
Color has flaked off of all my pharaonics' plastic beads. There was a thread on potential fixes a while back. I think the real issue is that you got a new costume with pre-flaked beads. You could try to return it and get the order remade, but to be honest you're going to have to deal with the flaking someday and you may just want to cut your losses and re-color the beads now.

I haven't tried anything on my teal Great Loop (the beads were like this when I bought it) but will visit the paint section the next time I go to Michael's.

Re: Costume problems...
I had bought permanent markers from the craft store to fix a royal blue costume I bought used on bhuz...it does help, but you have to flake off the whole bead to get it to look even...LOL....a pain in the *ss if you ask me...LOL

Re: Costume problems...
Instead of sending the costume back-could you send them pics and maybe they could send you replacement beads plus a discount voucher for there store for the trouble?????

Re: Costume problems...
She was very nice and offered a discount towards my next costume. I was worried that if I tried to cut off the beads, the rest would unravel since it looks like everything is connected.
I sent it back today and they will remake it...hopefully using better beads...LOL
