Thread: henna & a faken-bake?

Hi everyone,

I've got a performance coming up at the end of the month, and I have an appointment two days prior to get a henna design on my hip/waist. I also want to get a medium level Mystic tan (faken-bake!) the night before the performance. I'm UBER fair skinned normally, and when I get a spray tan I usually end up with a very mid-range tan. Pale by sun-goddess' standards, but tan for me.

What I'm wondering is... Have any of you done a spray tan or self tanner over henna? I wouldn't get the henna done AFTER the spray tan, because it won't penetrate, but I'm wondering if i will just stain the henna darker, or reduce the contrast so it's not as noticeable?

I'm hoping that the henna will start out dark enough on my skin so that it won't be as much of an issue, but I thought I'd see if any of you have some first hand experience on the matter.

I have spray tanned myself over henna and it didn't seem to make the henna any darker. It just tanned the skin around it. The henna was still very noticeable though!
