does fringe (on clothing) suck?
I have a bunch of those velvet ruana thingies, they have short fringe on the ends and i spend way too much time brushing it out again when it tangles..the same for the shawls with the long fringe
i love the way it looks but hate hi maintenance clothes
what do you think? would you prefer no fringe on things like that?
i'm thinking about making a ruana wrap without the fringe..

Re: does fringe (on clothing) suck?
I got my fringe on a gorgeous cashmere shawl stuck in the paper shredder at work.
So my resounding vote is YES. Fringe sucks.
At least, it can be a serious liability if you're accident prone like me...

Re: does fringe (on clothing) suck?
Not clothing, but related: a couple of years ago my sister gave me one of those throw things for the couch, and it had fringe that would get so snarled up and matted that I found myself endlessly trying to unravel it until I finally lost my patience with it and gave it away. It was higher maintenance than the long-haired cat I used to have.

Re: does fringe (on clothing) suck?
long tangled fringe is very annoying. But I love the rayon fringe skirts used in tribal because they magically seem to untangle themselves when I want to wear one, and having long fringe on a beautiful piece of clothing really makes me feel good.

Re: does fringe (on clothing) suck?
yes b/c the fringe on my pashmina wrap sometimes gets stuck on chairs.
also, the fringe on an item usually looks worn more quickly than the "body" of the item.
