How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
I am referring to MAC's LiquidLast Liner.
Yes, I should know my stuff as an MUA but believe you me I have tried numerous eye and makeup removers, short of a spackle knife to scrape this extremely beautiful metallic albeit LONGLASTING liquid eyeliner from my already sore, scratched eyelids.
It was sitting in one of the drawers of my makeup shelf and I was like, Hm, I haven't worn this in awhile! I'll throw some on tonight! Then I remembered why I haven't worn it in awhile. harumf.

Wow. That must be some strong stuff! Jojoba oil is my go-to for dissolving make-up, but I'm sure you've already tried that or an equivalent.

Re: How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
I keep telling everyone -- that stuff is car paint!!! It stayed on the back of my hand for three days despite regular washing and moisturization in an experiment I did a couple of weeks ago.
Oily eye makeup remover works for me. I have to let it soak in a bit and apply multiple times, but the paint did eventually come off. I think it was Lancome BiFacial that did the trick. None of the non-oily removers I normally use would touch it.
I am actually somehow comforted that you need to ask this question, my go-to-makeup babe.
Sorry for your trouble, though!

How about vaseline? Dab some on and leave it on for a few minutes, then wipe it off. I would say jojoba oil, but it sounds like you need something heavier than that!!

Oil-based makeup remover (made for waterproof makeup) works like a charm, I am a die-hard LiquidLast user, I have pretty solid empirical evidence ;-) I think the bottle I have is Revlon brand.

Try Weleda baby oil! It seems to work for everything. But then report back.

Re: How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
When I used to use it I also bought the MAC Cleanse off oil. I still had to let it soak in.
When I wear lashes, now I use duo glue- and then OVER the lashes I use the liquid last- helps the lashes stay on longer.
Zana- you're RIGHT- it IS like car paint!

Azhia,
have you tried Marcelle products since you arrived here ? They are made here in canada so I dont know if you ahve tried them yet.
You can find them at any pharmaprix and Jean-Coutu for 10$.
They have a great great oil based eye make up remover for sensitive eyes that easily wipes away any waterproof mascara.
Their line is hypo allergenic and products are good quality. I didnt try the liner you are taking about but I think it is worth a try.

Haha! Thanks everyone! I am convinced that it is detail paint and has no business near eyeballs. ..l;, ..c::
Palmier, we'll have to talk about your favorite brands when you get here. A friend in Philly is DYING over some products and I don't remember the brand. My other friend is CRAZY for Pharmaprix products, too!

I use the MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover, and it works. It also will remove their Pro Longwear lipcolor, which stays on forever, too.

I also suggest Baby Oil. It takes everything off.

Re: How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
I saw the thread name and thought it would be about MAC Fluidline, which is also pretty indestructible--I was close! I use Oil of Olay foaming face cleanser for removing Fluidline, really working it into the lash line and eyelids (keeping them tightly shut, of course!), so maybe that would work on LiquidLast.

Re: How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
I use Mehron's makeup remover, it's cheap and gets all my makeup off. Made for heavy duty stage makeup, it gets rid of everything for me. I don't use the LiquidLast so can't confirm the effectiveness but it's a good oily makeup remover.

I concur with oil-based makeup removers. Or, what works even better, is the oil cleansing method. You're basically washing your face with a mixture of olive and castor oils - every ounce of makeup will come right off.

Re: How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
Maybe it's my skin b/c I have doused my eyelids with almond, jojoba, olive, vaseline, coconut, mineral, baby, things made for removing eye makeup, things for removing kitchen grease, all manner of viscous and slithery liquids to try and remove this product. Maybe I need CLR. j/k

I'm about to sound like your granny here, but have you tried good old Pond's Cold Cream? It works like a charm for me...

I used olive oil, but it still wasn't a quick process. (My makeup remover that usually cut through everything didn't budge the stuff at all.)
My husband thought I smelled delicious afterward, though.
I now only use it when I REALLY REALLY REALLY need it to last for a long time...like when I need to dance for a week straignt...in a monsoon. ..l;,

Re: How the $#@!*% do you take this stuff off?!
Sonja, I'll have to get with the Ponds (though I'm sure I won't wanna know what's in it!!). That's what mum slathered her face with and why her skin looks so dang good. It has a nostalgic smell for me, too.
Good note to self, Mirah: wear LiquidLast only if I'm doing underwater gigs or doing this a lot: ..cr.:
I'll have to 'speriment and see what happens if I prime the lid to the nth degree and put the LiquidLast on top of something else. Got a cool idea for it (does not involve detailing my hot rod).

You're not looking for makeup remover -- you're looking for

We both did Frankie. Sylvia took the helm when I "retired" from Rocky after the tragic death of a very young friend.
As to the makeup, I can't imagine something that's so hard to chisel from your delicate eyelids would be a good thing to put on 'em... I always used Ponds to melt all that Mehron paint I used for Frankie.

Edited to add: Extreme technical difficulties; I'll have to shut down my network in order to fix the images in my gallery. It's 5:00 a.m. CST, time for this nightowl to go to bed!Last edited by ghazallah; 05-22-2008 at 02:21 PM. Reason: Computer network on the warpath!

Oh, those were days then again I did a floor show(with the local hs drama club I even taught them the live floor show) few years back when the new remodeled movie theatre opened.
Oh I always played Janet and subbed Magenta and Columbia.
Back to topic at hand sorry..I use ponds make up wipes and it takes off all my makeup and doesn't sting the eyes when removing eyeliner.
