Thread: Hot fix experts? Buy loop or swag fringe?

Has there been a thread about hot-fixing crystals/rhinestones onto costumes? I'm very inspired by some lycra that has a great floral pattern. I'm thinking of adding little swarovskis to it to enhance the flowers, ala Sahar designs that do this. Advice? I have never hot-fixed before.

Next, do you know where to purchase loop or swag fringe? The really sparkly Egyptian-style kind. I'm looking for cherry red.

I love hot-fixing crystals to stuff! Go for it!

My main advice is use crystals with the green-back glue, which is stronger than the silver-back glue.

The only place I have ever been able to find looped or swag fringe consistantly is from Horus and Isis online. They have a $200 minimum order and the fringe is made from seed beads, not faceted beads. It may be an option if you can't find anything else. You might also look for a used costume that has the fringe on it you want and scavange the fringe off of it.

A few minutes ago I placed an order for a hot-fix applicator and lots of pretty Swarovskis. Woo hoo!
