Thread: Where to buy giant crystal?

I'm going out of my mind! ..c::

The crystal I need to replace is a HUMONGOUS oval, over an inch long, just less than an inch wide (roughly 3cm by 2cm). It's prongset, but I'd be perfectly happy with a sew-on or even a flatback that I could glue on, just so I can fill this hole.

I can't find anything even CLOSE. Can anyone give me a clue where to shop online or locally? Or even what to call it in a google search?

They're about the size of the AB stones on a Great Loop, but sew-on. If so, I have a bunch (AB coated) and I can sell you some for a few bucks each.

oops, you want oval. try browsing that site or searching for AB rhinestones. sew-on and glue-on seem to come in way more sizes than the ones with prong settings.

It's similar in size to the pear-shaped stones on my Great Loop, only it's oval. But I'll take ANYTHING that size!

I don't understand how to read the sizes in mm. I guess it's a 28 X 17?

Any chance that 24 x 17mm is big enough? If so, you can get unset sew-on in that size at Swarovski Sew On Oval | Dreamtime Creations

oh! that's really big. Mine are I think the 18x10.5 size. If you contact them you may be able to get a single stone in the big size instead of buying the dozen...and it might be worth asking if they have prongset oval ones (I've bought 25mm progset circles there). Just make sure you specify half-coated AB.

This place also has 24x17 ovals and you can buy them in packs of 3. They are good sellers, I have bought from them.

I remeasured and it's definitely a little bigger than 20X30 -- maybe 24X32 or something? But anything that will fill in the gap will work.

I just ordered my 24x17 ovals from here and they for sure had the best price. I paid $22 including shipping and insurance for a dozen. And they came fast too. Man-I love swarovski crystals!

Is this to replace the missing stone on my white vintage Pharaonics that you bought from Aisha? I asked John to keep an eye out for one of those -- they are huge AB ovals and hard to find ...... I will try to find one for you....

I just reminded him ...... he will check on it ...... (he sells a lot of Austrian crystal items, jewelry, little sculptures, so he buys different pieces and might be able to find one .......)

Wow--- so many responses so quickly ....... just while I was typing .... sounds like any one of those sources would work ..... I know of Fire Mountain. They are expensive, but they have just about anything.....Rio Grande (jewelry supply catalog) is another source ......
