Hi hooked novice. The daily plate is Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate. It's a web site that gives you a place to track calories and exercise to help with weight loss. I've only been doing it about 5 days and have lost 4 pounds. I know that amount of loss will drop off and I should be losing a pound or two a week, but it's always so motivating to lose so much your first week out. Check out the site, maybe it'll help you too.

Tried the green tea. Not very helpful for me. I think the problem is that I had bariatric surgery in the past. Lost 120lbs. Did very well for about 4 years. Now having difficulty with certain foods so I don't feel very satisfied when I eat so I end up snacking
(some physical, some psychological). I know that when I am eating healthy I do well, but of course expensive and time consuming...easy to fall off!!! Something that has helped a lot though is eating brown rice with my meals, and using sea salt instead of table or seasoning salt. I think I am going to start there....TODAY!

What kind of green tea do you use? A special diet kind or just any at the store? What's a good brand? Will give it a try.

Thanks. Will pick some up tomorrow. Do you sip it all day long or only at night when the cravings hit?
Just set myself up on the Daily Plate. (Thanks for the link) This sort of thing is right up my little obsessive compulsive alley! ;) On the other hand, Logging your food intake the day you start your period is painful to look at. (yikes) .w.: I like the idea on this thread for a weightloss buddy, but am stumped on how to go about it on a message board. I am game to try though. On the daily plate you have the option of posting a message in each other's daily plate log. So like what do we-shame those who blow the daily calorie allotment? (joking) I am just not creative when it comes to hatching plans such as these...How about you all?

Hey Casbahdance, Do you do the Daily Plate too? I know they have groups that you can form....but maybe too much between BHUZ and TDP? I'd be game to try it, There could be a group for dropping 10 and/or one for dropping 10+? I am just learning my way around the site so I don't know if I can create a group. Anyone w/ more experience want to? Like I said, maybe overkill but I think a cyber-weightloss buddy is a great concept..l;,

YAY!!! I'm so glad it's working for you too!! BTW- I found...green tea cookies!!! I find that one is all i need to curb a sweets craving.
I successfully resisted the leftover chocolate truffle cheesecake in the fridge and gave 2 of the 3 slices away to a neighbor...gotta share the temptation... LOL (actually her husband said she may never know it was in the house, so she's off the hook too!)
Casbahdance- there is also a green tea powder by Celestial seasonings that you add to water, it's sweetened with Stevia, to you may have an aftertaste...
tips that have worked for me:
Walk! try to take a hilly walk and increase your time on the walk
Water! try for 1 liter a day, add flavor if you need to... sprigs of mint or lemon slices, try to avoid sweeteners if you can
Cut out High Fructose Corn Syrup! I know it's in *everything* but you can find alternatives if you look, and they are more filling (to me)
Grains! sneak more fiber into your foods, I add a few tablespoons of flax seeds to my soups and stews. it adds fiber and a little flavor without seeming too over the top granola to my hubby.
my weight has plateaued *again* but, the measurements are slowly shrinking!
