ISO instructions to make a top out of leotard.
Hi,
Where can I find a pattern, or instructions to make a top to wear under the bra like the one Majda is wearing?

KwikSew's Swim and Actionwear book (kwiksew.com - Catalogue) has instructions for shortening a leotard pattern into a crop top pattern. Perhaps that would help you.

Re: ISO instructions to make a top out of leotard.
Thank you tigerb for your response, I'll check out the link (I want to cut up some t-shirts, it might help). :-)
What I'm looking for is instuctions to cut up leotards (might be leggings), to make a top out of.
One person told me to cut the crotch out of leggings....but didn't say where to cut, and do I serge the edges?
I've seen two style one like Majda is wearing, another like the ones Rachel Brice and other tribal dancers are wearing in the bellydance video from Paris.

OK, for that look, you want to take a pair of tights - ie pantyhose - and cut off the feet, and then cut out the crotch. Seriously, just cut around the hopefully cotton gusset and throw it away. Now you have a crop top with sleeves and a seam front and back centre. On me, that's effectively a v-neck (I did it with some old witches britches back in the 90s), so you may want to play with it a bit and see how much it stretches to get it down over your shoulders. If it doesn't stretch enough, just make the neckhole wider by cutting along the seam lines.
There's not much point in serging. These things will ladder up in time but it's easy to make a new one if you need to.

Yep! Its just a pair of tights I cut exactly how Zumarrad described :) Winter time is the best time to get the opaque tights from the stores, so stock up!
