06/01/08 - What to do with my favorite veil!

So one of my favorite veils, got into an incident with a restaurant candle. (Why do I put my costumes through this?) So now I'm wondering what to do with it. it is a wide 1/2 circle, 6mm habotai silk now with three burn holes near the outer hem.

Any ideas on what to do with this veil now to perhaps ressurect it in a different form?

You could try changing the edge to scalloped or jagged, but that would be a lot of hemming...

use it as an insert, a modesty panel on skirt? cut it into 2 halves, trimming it down for accents? table cloth?

Oh, yeah... arm accents would be lovely. Cut the veil into two pieces and sew a small elastic casing roll up and tuck under upper arm bands.

Put a wide piece of trim as a "new hem" to cover the burn holes? It would change the float, but it would still be usable...

How close to the hem is it? Could you just trim it down a bit and re-hem it?
