Thread: Need bling adding advice...

Since your crystals are square, I think design A complements them nicely. I assume this fabric stretches? I don't see a zipper. I'm concerned about how you would get the rhinestone chain "just right" for the horizontal effect if you need the skirt top to stretch.

ah, i shoulda mentioned that these beads were extremely chunky and I didn't need a beading needle because the holes were large!

Exactly what I was thinking!!!

C is my pick. The cut of this costume is SUPERB and it looks fantastic on you. If you drape too too much it will take away from the crisp line (I lean toward the contemporary costumes and love the look of this). I might add a few odd shaped crystals (round or oval) to spice it up a bit. This is sooooo juciy,r:; ! rrow!

I vote for C too. Elegant and sassy.

Well, you know what they say about opinions.....l;,

I do like A. To me that takes the costume in a more Turkish, Bella direction and so I'd expect to see a bit more ornamentation on it--maybe matching seed beads around the edges of the sleeves and neckline of the top and on the slit/hem of the skirt.

i like a, c & i, a has awesome bling factor without being over the top, c is very classy and elegant, almost hollywood vintage, i has the drippy effect i like with clear stones, and keeps it understated and elegant, but the back of the top needs the same idea to keep it balanced..........very nice design shems!

Shems this costume is gonna be just gorgeous when it's finished!
To give you another idea I've attached a front and back pic of a skirt, which also has a slit and square crystals..

B

I think A and G make you like wide (well not really, but, wider than you are). I like C and F.

And with any of 'em, maybe add a bling at the back of the elbows (with or without a little drape depending on which motif you choose).

I love a and b. but I think I like the last one the best. I like the minimalist design that will let the couture cut of the costume and the dance movements shine through.

plus, a and b would take so much time to do!

C and I are my favorites.

Do you want it to look Egyptian or Turkish? Because to me "A" is going to make it look like a Sim, not that that is a bad thing at all, but Firefly's original mock up makes it look like a Sahar.

I joined this thread late - but its most DEFINITELY A. If you're asking yourself if it's too little, it definitely is - if you're asking yourself if its too much - add a little more and call it good!
