Re: So what is beauty then??

I've actually come to appreciate the crookedness of my nose and mouth! I think it's hilarious. I don't take my looks seriously, anymore. I work with them and get on with the day. :0)

Seriously, everyone here is beautiful. People are entitled to do what enhances their feeling of "being beautiful", whether it's going under the knife, or buying a new pair of pretty underwear that nobody else sees *wink wink*.

And seeing people's faces up close, they start to just become skin. eyeball. eyebrow. lip. cheek. So the best part of my job is interacting with the personalities behind the skin and bones. Our brain and filtered perceptions layer things on top of these biological, organic material and we label it "beautiful".

At the end of the day we're all just vibrating atoms anyway so, as Emma brilliantly put it, let's wear comfortable clothes, eat well, and laugh!

Do you know me? Are you staring into my living room? (Says the girl that lives in Philly, eats cheesesteaks at least once a week, let her gym membership lapse last week, just ate a chocolate bar and went bra shopping yesterday only to discover her cup size is now an E.)

I don't take my looks too seriously any more either - it's out of my control. Though I do have the hottest eyebrows ever. Seriously, they are perfect.

Oh, Oliver Platt is sexy too! It's his personality. He's funny and played a wonderful Porthos.

I did always like Jeff Goldblum too, but mostly because he plays brainy guys. Generally speaking I like the looks of my large group of male friends, who are all beautiful physically and BRILLIANT (seriously, one of them wrote symphonies before he was ten and is now in robotics). I call them 'my clan'...they would do anything for me.

That's something I've always wondered, too - the way people treat celebrities, like they are dreams come true/can do no wrong/etc. There are people in your own social circle as beautiful and amazing as them but I don't see people fawning after some random male/female friend. I always wondered what it was that caused this near-worship of celebrities. Perhaps it is because, with the distance, there is no way these people can break our fantasies. Still...even Sean Connery, or whoever, is still just some guy from the neighborhood to somebody.

You summed it up perfectly for me there on all counts. I spend a lot of time doing makeovers and shooting and retouching and it has all become so clinical now - apart from how I interact with them, bringing them out and showing them how f*****g ace they can look - it's wonderful seeing them blossom before my very eyes.

Vibrating atoms oh yes indeedy. And consider this. if it is true that on a cellular level we are constantly dying and being reborn, and over a period of 7 years all the cells in our body are replaced, therefore we are totally refreshed, then can we not become more beautiful? Or perhaps more ugly? And what would affect/effect this change? Whether we are vibrating positively or not.

Back to the opium for me I think

Alright, I must confess that I am in love with Chef Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen and Simon Powell. Both have kind of odd faces and I do love a British accent and a rude demeanor. I don't think I would cry if chef called me a donkey, I would probably swoon! (you just know that in private life they are softies)

Ramsay is extremely craggy indeed but definitely has something about him. Simon Cowell (you mean him don't you?), well he probably does fall into the handsome category and although not one of my "types" (I prefer faces with more character) he is growing on me. His teeth are too white for my liking though.

Re: So what is beauty then??

    I have a question,
what on earth makes Sophia Loren not perfect ?

and Cindy Crawford has perfect everything ! I have a mole on my face too , but everything else more than ordinary so a gazillion years away from being anything like Cindy.

For the men we have lots of examples but I am not sure I understand the female examples ....
