Thread: Spinoff: what celeb do you look like?

Its wierd, in Greece some old dancers of the bellydance community around their 70's now tell them that I look like Nelly Mazloum when she was young.
And the new generation thinks that I look like Dandash (that I adore anyway) but not sure if we look so much alike, maybe at a certain time we had same style.

The only person I've ever been compared to is Jill Scott. That's fine with me, though, since she's the most beautiful, fabulous thing ever!

I used to hear Pat Benatar all the time years ago. A guy in the office where I worked just resolved to calling me Pat. Heard it again not too long ago. Thought it was pretty funny.

I've had Pat Benatar too (not in the biblical sense you understand). I've also had Jennifer Rush, the one that sang that "The Power Of Love" power ballad. I did look like her, I could see it myself. Even my hair used to be as big as hers.

When I was a little girl I got told all the time that I looked like Brooke Sheilds. This was about the time she made "Blue Lagoon" and had all the teen sex scenes. I was considerably younger yet, so let me tell ya, my parents just LOVED having older men (and women) come up and point out the resemblence. But in adulthood, I've never heard that comparison.

Then in the mid- to late 1980s I heard a lot of Marlee Matlin. I think it was that we have similar noses and at the time of "Children of a Lesser God" we had the same hair. But again, I don't hear that much any more.

In the 1990s it was Deanna Troi on Star Trek Next Generation. But I have to wonder how much of that was just because I was a vaguely "ethnic" looking woman consorting with sci-fi geeks in the midwest. ;-)

Lately the only celebrity I've been compared with is some Lebanese actress (I've heard it from a few different people, but I haven't seen her, so I can't attest to the resemblence myself....)

I NEVER get told I look like my family. I have successfully described my parents to people as "go into that room and find the middle aged couple who looks nothing like me--those are my parents." I guess I got all the recessive genes.

My husband, though--HE kept having students, colleagues, total STRANGERS come up to him and tell him he looked like the guy who played "Carlos" on Desperate Housewives! We didn't see it at first, but lately...wow! Yep--without his glasses, when they make that kind of confused/scowling face--dead ringers! LOL!

Actually, that reminds me - a gay guy I worked with used to call me Jane Russell all the time. I think it was mostly down to boobs and dark hair though. And eyebrows and red lips. I certainly didn't get those cheekbones, or that waist, but I suppose if you were really squinting...

I have no thoughts that i look like a celebrity. When I had short red hair, everyone told me I looked either like Bette Midler (so-so) or Molly Ringwald (ugh, yuck,eeek) Hence, I will never color my hair red again.

I've gotten Alyssa Milano, and Natalie Wood (West Side Story), which I can kinda see. The one that blows my mind is Jennie Garth...the blond from 9020?

Weirdly enough...I kinda see that (Please don't hit me! I'm sorry!) I mean...you don't look that much like her (totally different coloring, different forehead, different eyeshape) but I think it may be something in the shape of your jawline in proportion to the set of your eyes/brow bones, nose, and mouth. You both have a little bit of that "sweatheart" shaped configuration of your facial features, and a nice petite featured-symetrical kind of prettiness. So...no you don't really look like Jennie Garth at all, but yeah...now that you mention it, you look a little like Jennie Garth.

I know Shems is on Bhuz, but i don't know if she's reading this thread. That said, when I saw her at Folk Tours camp she reminded me a lot of Tia Carrere!

I don't think I look that much like most of these women, maybe a little in the face shape, but it is nice that they are pretty. But mostly I get people telling me I'm just like some random best friend of theirs back home. I think I have a familiar look about me.

It was fun seeing all the look alike references in here. I can see a lot of them.
