where the heck is the July fitness thread?
Oh, I guess it is here.,r:;
I tipped under 130 this morning for the first time in, hmm, at least 15 years I'd say. 129.8 and it was probably just a "teaser" I won't see for a while, but it felt good. I have been unable to resist late night eating for the past week or so, so I was honestly surprised to see I had gone down.
I am also taking a beginning ballet class. It is kicking my ass but so far I have made it through the classes and nothing is sprained, strained, sore, or inflamed so I feel very good about myself.
What else. The boobs are shrinking. ,f:: In recent dance pics, I discover I am failing to adequately pad and adjust my pre-weight-loss costume bras in this respect. (a camera captured gappage, visible chicken cutlets, and one shot straight down to within mm of nippleville). I may be selling my treasured (sob) teal pharaonics. I'm thinking either I sell it or make major design changes -- like adding ruched chiffon along the cups to seal the girls in. I just can't get the cups to snug up against my bod.

Re: where the heck is the July fitness thread?
No fitness thread this month, we're all drinking and eating Mish's birthday cake. I've sort of given up.
Wow, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know what you mean about a teaser, my body always gave me those tantalizing 'preview' glimpses of breaking through barriers - but to even touch it is so HUGE and motivating!
I had to sell a costume I dearly loved (also Pharonics) because my boobs were like ping pong balls in cereal bowls after I lost weight, and no amount of padding would fix it.
Have you tried moving the bra straps inward on the cups? That and moving the cups closer (or removing the center piece altogether and stitching the cups together) often helped me. But if you MUST sell it and shop, then you must....

Oh, oh, one more thought!!
Three times now I've removed the lining from a costume bra, cut apart a lingerie bra, and sewn the lingerie bra cups right inside the costume bra cups, usually along the top edge, with padding in between. That has saved a couple of bras for me, and no one knew my actual boobs were suspended on these internal hammocks.

This just makes me think of Jennifer McCarthy's book about pregnancy when she talked about sex after giving birth was like "throwing a hot dog down a hallway." ..c::
I notice I eat less when I'm generally busy. More when I'm not. Late night eating I still have to fight.
I've been eating dairy and eggs again, which is quite strange for me. Yet I am enjoying it. It is hard to avoid dairy in this town. ..c:: I'd like to get back off the dairy wagon, though.
P90X is great though I am not able to do it everyday. :0( I would prefer regular cardio to keep the heart pumping (and prevent all the poutine I've been eating to clog my arteries). oy.

Re: where the heck is the July fitness thread?
That's awesome Sedonia. Even if you only "borrow" that weight for a day, it must feel good. I'm sure you'll see below 130 as a real sustainable number soon.
I'm 2.5 pounds away from hitting the 130 mark myself. Weighed in a 132.5 today. That meant I've lost another pound this last week.
I've been exercising regularly (in addition to dancing) since last September. I bought myself a really nice elliptical trainer last November and have been using that 4 - 6 days a week. Lately I've been using it 6 days a week. I had topped out at 140 pounds and felt gross. I'm only 5'2" so that's heavy for me. What finally got the weight to start dropping was journaling my food. I write down everything I eat. It's the only way for me to really keep track of how many calories I've eaten in a day. I've been using The Daily Plate web site since the end of May and it's really paid off.
Once I reach my goal weight of 125 pounds, I think the exercise routine I've developed (weights and cardio) will help me maintain it. I'm sure I'll still have to journal food regularly, just hopefully not every day.
I have two custom costumes I ordered from Audrena arriving soon. I hope I don't lose so much weight that they don't fit. My boobs haven't shrunk any, so if anything, I may just have to take in the waistband/belts.

Re: where the heck is the July fitness thread?
Congrats Sedonia!!! You and I are practically twins as far as our weight loss. I currently fluctuate between 129 and 130, sometimes 131 if I have eaten heavy the night before my weigh in. The first time I saw 129, I stepped off the scale and reweighed myself, just to see the number again. First time for me as well, in over 10 years. When the hubby and I met 8 years ago, I weighed around 135-137 pounds and wore a size 8. I wear a size 6 now. It is kind of cool to know that I am thinner than when we met as well as thinner than when we got married, 5 1/2 years ago!! My hips are 37.5", my waist 27.5". The only bad thing is that my boobs have pretty much disappeared. Thank goodness for padding and thank goodness hubby is not a boob-man!!
I just successfully altered a too big C cup bra into a B cup - if you want to know how I did it, drop me a PM! (It wasn't a matter of padding, it was just too big for my currrent frame. I have some C cups that still fit with copious amounts of padding.)
I watch what I eat, lift weights 3x a week and dance anywhere from 4 to 9 shows each week.Last edited by damiena; 07-15-2008 at 11:45 PM.

Well, at least you had 'em, girl. That's the problem with being skinny. Look at all the top models and actresses. Many will get yelled at if they wear a 34B. If they've got boobs, they probably added them afterwards
You can always enhance them with padding or wear a wider cupped bra.
I lost about 10 pounds which puts me at 112lbs now. I'm 5'2 so it's not like I'm underweight.
I get teased all the time by the other girls. They're always making comments like, "you should have some brownies" or "you can't make this move if you don't have any fat on you." I laugh it off, although sometimes I do feel different because I don't have as much flesh. And I have to be careful when exercising because if I lose anymore weight, I'll wither away.
My problem is that I don't like food very much unless someone else makes it ..l;,

Gosh, I'd love to be 130 - I'm sitting about twenty-five pounds heavier than that right now. Seems no matter what I do, that's where I stay! I've got to get back to a regular exercise program and no snacking (bad snacks, that is!!!) HEEEELLLLLPPPPPP - I want to be slim but.......... I know it is me that has to buckle down to accomplish this but I really need some encouragement!

Suzyq52, come on over to Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate. There's a bunch of us bhuzzers there working on losing a few (or more) pounds. I've created a group just for Bhuz members. I'm trying to lose about 15 pounds and have made it half way there. I've dropped a size and now fit into my "skinny" jeans. I feel so much better even after losing only half what I need to. You will too once you've made up your mind that your ready to.

Re: where the heck is the July fitness thread?
Hi, ladies. I mostly lurk here, but I really enjoy your fitness threads and wanted to join in.
At 5'5", I have gone from 210 to 136 over the last three years. The problem is since my best, 136 which was last summer, I have put on 15lbs! I'm so upset about this and need to get back on plan and get it off and maintain it!
So, I am back to counting calories, but where I am struggling is with exercise. I don't know why because I did great last time, but it may be that I wasn't taking dance class at the time. I'm currently in class two nights a week. Not a lot right? I don't count it as exercise because I just don't break much of a sweat. So, where does the problem come in? I try to lift weights 2-3 a week and when I lift and then go to class I feel impaired! I am losing my flexibility, I feel like, and find my muscles shaking in class even in doing simple things - like just trying to maintain posture in tribal class. Any suggestions for what works for you or for what I should be doing as far as exercise to support weight loss and my dance?
