Re: looking for advice for thick waisted dancer
I understand. I wear them because I like how they look, but I'm very selective about the fit to avoid "headband headache". Maybe I go overboard with accessories, but I feel more "covered" that way. Dina Lydia has amazing ideas for making accessories. On this page, she even has Leila modeling some arm decor: Dina's Bellydance Costume Galleries
Her newest book is all about head adornment.
Nice job on the orange, by the way!

Love love LOVE the peach! It's gorgeous on you, the style and the color are very flattering to you!
I would also love to see something in your hair, a necklace, some armbands. You look just lovely in that costume.

Re: looking for advice for thick waisted dancer
Not particularly related but since we are talking about the orange costume, I thought I'd show off the other 5 I made to go with it. I hope to get more detailed pictures soon

Those are great costumes. And I think orange flowers in your hair would look lovely!

Beautiful costumes! You did a fantastic job on them. And love how you are all in a different colour but unified by the style. You look like jewels!
And, BTW, I too think the orange costume looks absolutely lovely on you. The style and colour are very flattering to you. You just need a few more accessories to add to your lovely smile.

What a gorgeous troupe--and the costumes are so elegant. I love the look. You have some talent!
I think the fuller skirt is a better choice to balance top and bottom. You are very attractive, so don't sweat the tummy stuff. You look great.

Wow! You all look gorgeous! Especially you, Amanda. Love those colors.
Full skirts can reeeeally add pounds if they're full from the waistband down -- I have big hips and circle skirts especially turn me into a tent, so I avoid them at all costs. Your beautiful troupe skirts are the perfect way to "do" a full skirt, slim through the hips with interesting detail, then swishing out below. Great job!
