    Glowing...like a pig!

Mother said that ladies never sweat...we...umm...glow.
    So...um...these days...ummm...I'm glowing like a pig.

Maybe it's global warming...3 weeks of uber-high humidity combined with hot flashes...but...
I am leaving class WET. My bangs (fringe to my UK sisters) are positively SOAKED by the end of my classes...leaving me with a less than polished...professional look.
I wear wonderful homemade sequined 'sweatbands' under my bangs when I dance...and they work fine...but...in class...I dunno...maybe because my hair is less 'gigantic' than when I perform...I look less like a goddess and more like Olivia Newton John in the "Let's Get Physical" video...
    ..cr.:
What does a damp diva do?
I'm ready to buy one of those challah-like braided hair bands like Fahtiem wears...

I thought about trying a full head-scarf tied around my whole head...but I fear I look like a wannabe pirate... arrrrggghhh...I just don't look good without da bangs...

    Any ideas?
    Gia

I have to put mine up most of the time in the summer--I twist them, and then instead of pinning them flat, I pouf them up a little and pin them (to the effect of taking the twist and pushing the end 2 inches forward)--gives it a fun pin-up feel and keeps you from getting that weird look that completely pulled back can give you sometimes

    Yup, the "pomp" rocks!

Your challah bread hair band comment cracked me up!

You can still do a babushka and have some bangs peak out but it may be uncomfortable with plastered bangs against the forehead.

At least pigs are really adorable. :0)

LOL...I DEFINATELY need something on my forehead...the 'pomp' IS very cool and retro...but I just don't like 'me' without bangs or something on my forehead...
I twisted a scarf into the 'challah' last night...looked ok...worked like a charm (that Fahtiem is so smart!)...but if I cut my bangs Bettie Page short as I usually do...it won't work...
    Damn...moppy pig...here I come!

Aw.... but pigs *don't* sweat. That's why they have to wallow (to cool off). I've taken to changing that phrase to "sweat like a horse", though I know horses don't sweat near as much as I do (aka buckets during July and August when southern Illinois can have temps in the upper 90s to 100s and humidity ranging from 80% upward). blech Maybe we need a "sweating buckets" smiley. ..l;,

It's one of those irregular verbs...

    Ladies glow
    Gentlemen perspire
    Horses sweat

I have this same problem. I am a major head sweater. I have yet to find a solution....head bands on my forehead look strange on me.
