More pad than boob...a bad thing?
Okay, I just bought a gorgeous gold bella from my teacher. I knew when I bought it the bra was too big. i went home and padded it...and before I knew it there was more padding than boob. Actually, cups are entirely full of padding. The costume is stiff around the ribcage, so it did already stand away from my ribcage by a very tiny bit. The padding doesn't seem to make it worse. I'm going to post a pic when I get home, to get some opinions. I think it looks hot, but the only thing I'm a little worried about is the possibility of nipple action if I happen to raise my arms and do an undulation (not likely, but who knows what might happen if I'm "in the moment)??

some dancers use double sided tape to make sure that doesn't happen. tape the girls in to make sure they don't move around.

Bellas bras are flexible, almost as if they have wire in them. If my bra cup is a little too big, I flatten them out to the sides so that there is no gap between my boob and the cup. That way, no nipplage occurs.

Sorry to be a "bra boob" (pun intended:)), but how do you "flatten out the sides"? I feel like such a dunce today--my head's dense and not able to visualize what you're saying... :-( ..c:: Eager to learn, though, 'coz I'm going to do "surgery" on the Bella I got from ElissaDancer that had a mishap with a car...

LOL, no prob....here's what to do:
Wear the bra, then place one hand on each cup. Press the top of the cups into your chest. You'll notice the bra has "memory" to it, and will stay flattened once you release the pressure. I find that if I don't have the boobage to fill the cup, leaving a gap, I make the cup come to my boob. Does that make sense? You could also place a hand over the opposite boob, almost as if you're saying the pledge of allegiance, and press the cup in. It distorts the cup A LITTLE on the outer edges, where the shoulder straps meet the cup, but better than nipplage, I say!

Of course, this won't help if your problem is you have high/perky nipples (it won't keep them from busting out the top to say hello to the audience). But if it's a boob gap thing, my description should help.

..l;,
Well, I hope they're perky, but all the same I'd just rather they didn't wave hello!!
I'll try flattening. I noticed they seemed "wired" in a sense, but was worried I'd damage it if I tried smooshing.
About the tape thing....doesn't it come off with sweat??..c::

If I have a Bella bra that is a bit too large besides padding I sew elastics to the side of the cups. Pulls the upper edge to the body so no gap between boobs and cups.

There is nothing wrong with the "wall 'o pads" that push up the breasts. As long as it's not like "Animal House" you're golden.

I also worry about nipplage but that can be remedied by taping 'em down (or the aforementioned toupé tape)! ,m::

Yay! It works! I tried the "flattening" cup trick & it works like a charm. No more fear! I was going to post a picture of the "padding wall" which is pretty freakin' funny, but my power was out for 3 hours because of storm last night...which meant I danced in the dark with no music for an hour at home, hee hee hee...
