Problems with Great Loop-what do you do??
Just got a great loop bedlah AND I LOVE IT (thanks so much Zana)- it looks fab. I danced in tonight at the restaurant for the very first time and I've shed the jewels everywhere. The great loop set seems very popular here on Bhuz and what I'd like to know is...how do you keep the jewels from dropping out. or is it just me. I lost 7 tonight and I wasn't dancing that vigorously. Bless the staff because they crawled about and collected them all for me but this can't happen again, so any ideas??

I'm going to be rremoving mine and gluing them into the settings, i've just gotten enough to replace the ones I shed from my silver one. It's the prongs coming loose and no way to really keep them in, I think glue will work.

I don't have a great loop so I don't know what kind of setting they are in but you could take out the settings and use sew-on crystals instead?

I'm so glad you love it -- knew it would be gorgeous on you!
On my other Pharaonics (Pharonixes?) I have used a rubber/plastic mallet from the craft store to press the prongs down so that the jewels are held more securely and the settings don't snag the skirts. The metal of the settings seems fairly soft, though, so it would probably be best to secure the prongs AND put some gem glue under the stones in case the prongs loosen up again. Amira uses such gorgeous rocks -- it would be a real shame to lose them!

I am really quite dissapointed with the great loop. Every time I wear mine I lose strands of beads! Does this happen to you as well?
Grr...I compare to my Sims that take a beating and don't seem to shed. Love the look of the loop but they seem a bit fragile. Never checked to see if I lost any stones. One more thing to worry about. LOL

Re: Problems with Great Loop-what do you do??
I've worn my great loop several times a month for a few years now and haven't had any loose bead strand problems. with the jewels, I'm always careful to check all of the prongs every so often to make sure the jewel is centered in the setting and all of the prongs are tight. you could do a tiny dab of clear glue at all of the prongs to make it more secure. or you could open up a prong or two to take the jewel out, and then put a big glob of glue in the setting and mush the jewel down onto the glue (not sure what that might do to the backing of the jewel...).
losing a pronged jewel seems to me just a fact of life. your veil or whatever will catch on a prong, and it just takes one loose prong to lose a jewel. I've had to take a couple of the jewels from the headband (which I never used anyway) to replace stones I've lost over the years.

I haven't lost anything on mine. Other than the usual complaint about the plastic beads, I'm very happy with mine. I haven't had anything fall off or out.

No. My silver came with one broken strand, fixed and haven't lost another, the turquoise had some as well, but none broke while I had it, my orange has yet to lose a strand, and the gold I sold didn't eaither.
And I'm rough on costumes .w.: It's one of the reasons it's my favorite bedlah style- A deeply desired goal gives context to present experience... M. Stanton Jones

Gosh, then I really do wonder what is up with mine. Every time I wear it I lose more strands. Every time. :( Never had this issue before and owned other sets with similar style fringe. Huh.
