Thread: ventured into body-modification land last night...

I took the plunge last night and got my first body piercing (vertical hood) and also had my very first martini!

How bad is it that I'm already thinking of getting a Christina? ..g.:

I have a vertical hood! Its lovely ;) Don't really feel it during just day to day activities, but during "certain things" its great. I don't recommend the christina though, unless you go to a very, very skilled piercer! Like a really top of the like piercer in an urban area, its a very tricky piercing.

Be sure to let it heal a few days before doing anything that might irritate the piercing!

Wow, just can't get used to the look of those bald crotches. But I had to look to check out the terminology. I've got several holes in my ears and one tattoo. Might go for more tattoos, but I don't know about getting holes in my nether lips.

I used to have my vertical hood pierced! I liked it, but I was much younger at the time and very insecure and I was afraid that guys would be freaked out by it so I had it removed after a while. I've been thinking of having it redone. Maybe it'll be a birthday present for myself! Good for you!

I'm only mildly modified. Ears for decoration, BD for bodily shaping. That'll do me, though I may yet get a tattoo when my skin is no longer lovely.

Pierced ears for me (one hole per ear), and that's it. I never had any desire for holes anywhere else or a tattoo.

Bucket O' Martini would not be enough for me...not to mention the TSA feeling me up every time I fly. I can just hear that wand beeping while crowd behind me smiles knowingly.

LOL, the martini was post-piercing celebration--I wouldn't have wanted the piercing any other way than stone-cold sober

The piercer (Hank at Tattoo Factory in Chicago) was highly recommended by Sonya, he's been body piercing for near on 20 years! She went with me too (is that a BFF or what?) Hank had me totally at ease and it really was only a big ouch-y pinch for a second. The endorphin rush afterward was amazing, I had to restrain myself from pulling up my skirt and running bare-bottomed around the shop WHEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!..l;,

I don't know about the sensation lasting long-term but the early results are FAB...I think I'm about to become a much happier person to be around LOL!

Nope, I am right there with ya Maia. More power to all y'all who like to pierce nethers. I can barely look at it (and a shaved pubic area is just not attractive to me in the least, so that's another cringe in itself!) But I would gladly tattoo just about anyplace else. :)

yes, made me shiver. But in the book I am reading right now (Infadel) the total other end of the spectrum left me skeeved out. (Won't hijack the thread by explaining).

But more power to ya - if it brings you joy, go for it. Other than my single pierced ears and my upcoming tatt, I can't imagine! I *did* consider a navel piercing; but after seeing my instructor's trials and tribulations with hers, I wimped out. The BMEzine link sez it heals fast - so hopefully it will be trouble free for ya.

That's what it was like when I had it done, too. My body registered the pain, but it was so quick that it was basically over before I even felt it. Then there was a big rush.


I'm sure piercing the actual clitoris would be much more intense, but I would never do that since there's a chance you can lose feeling. The hood has a lot fewer nerve endings (for those who don't know).

Now I'm not going to be able to see you without thinking about you running about bare bottomed with your skirt hiked up around your waist. I imagine some "woo-woo"ing going on with it. I would have woo-wooed.

you know, I have nothing against body piercing on other people. On me, there are certain places which will not be pierced and others which potentially will. I may get my nose and my navel done. anything else, probably not.
