Eye Candy - No Pain No Gain

So, I've used my new Eye Candy a couple of times and I always end up feeling the burn. Is there a trick to not having my eyes burn or is this just another one of those things we endure for our art. ..g.:
Also, has anyone used a hair dryer on low to dry it faster so you can open your eye? I really love this stuff. I'll keep practicing.

If it's taking that long to dry and it's burning you're likely using too much liquid sugar or going too far into an eye corner--also, make sure to mix it on the back of your hand or on a fingertip first to get the right consistency.

Really? It takes at least a couple of minutes for mine to dry. I usually stand in front of the fan in my bedroom to speed the process up.

Bhuzzer Shadiyah is an Eye Kandy vendor and a sweetheart to boot. (And you should see her dance!) I'm sure she can hook you up. Find her here:

Kimahri in Chicago is also a vendor. There's a website, too -- google, I'm sure it'll turn up. Maybe the website lists local vendors?

For the OP -- I wouldn't use it if it's causing pain or redness. Although it's formulated to be safe around the eyes, allergies are always possible.

well, it only hurts when I get it in my eyes - which is getting less often as I get better at it. Maybe I am using to much liquid sugar. I'll try making it thicker. That may make it easier to get a clean line as well.
    Thanks a bundle!
BTW - I ordered mine online. The only problem is that the colors are not true online. If you have someone near you are the actual paper with the colors on it that's better.

    Too much glue...hm...
Dip the brush into glue first and then dip that brush into the glitter then apply. Done this way you should get no glue in your eye.

just a comment for the eye candy users...

I haven't been able to get the hang of getting a thin, smooth line for eyeliner, so I mostly use the eyeshadow ones. BUT - I recently lost my bottle of liquid sugar. in a pinch, I tried using my she-laq, and it was so much easier and went on so well! the she-laq even comes with a perfect eyeliner brush for applying (way better than the one that came with my eye candy kit). just in case anybody wants to give that a try...

I had a reaction to Eye Candy. Rash, tenderness and irritated eyes - symptoms lasted for several days. I gave away all my Eye Candy. I love the look but it doesn't work for me.

are you reacting to the glitter or the liquid sugar? to test, you can try applying it with just water- it goes on fine, it just doesn't stay put as long.

I found that if my liquid sugar is too old, I start reacting to it. I am totally anal about keeping things clean, so I don't think I got anything in the bottle, but something definitely happened! New bottle, all is well.

Burning and watering are your eyes' way of saying, "GET IT AWAY! GET IT OFF ME NOW!" Try a different method of applying and removing your Eye Kandy, try new containers of product and clean applicators, try a competing brand of cosmetic glitter, but if your eyes are still reacting, listen to your body. You only get one pair of working eyeballs per lifetime, and no makeup is worth risking serious eye injury or blindness for.
