Thread: For those who use BEAD BOARDS...

...Do you find them helpful? Indispensable?

What do you use them for? Normally just designing fringe? Does it actually help the fabrication process (speed it or facilitate it) or just the planning process?

I use a bead board to plan my earrings, bracelets and necklaces when I work out a design in my head sometimes its looks better in my head than actual layout on the bead board.
It is helpful because you layout the beads in the color sequence you plan to do before spending the time actually beading, and you can change if doesn't look right. When working with seed beads have scotch tape handy and tape the beginning of the strand of your fringe so it will stay put on the tray. carpet thread is great for beading fringe, it give my fringe extra strength instead of regular cotton thread.
It makes working on fringe so much easier.

I have one, I dont really use it that much though. If I do use it, it is mostly for bracelet or necklace designs. I am really big on temporarily stringing things and putting it on my body (or someone else) and gauging the design that way. Also, I would say I use the bead board more for the preliminary design.
