Resources for costuming (tribal and cabaret)

    Hi all,

I'm always looking for glittery things i can sew onto my costumes, other than swarovski crystals. The tribal girls from the BDSS have the most amazing collection of things on their costumes and I would love to know if anyone knows where to get things like the dangles they have off their costumes and stuff like that - I am always looking on ebay, but its an on off affair. tribalmax has now closed - does anyone know good places for quality looking bits to put on costuming?
I'd rather collect a few expensive items and make one costume, than have lots of cheap stuff which makes my costumes look cheap.
I am also always looking for unusual fabrics...

Anyone got any good websites they can recommend - i'm in the UK, so can't make it to US retailers unless they have websites!

    Thanks in advance!
    x

    Well...there's:
    Tribal Bazaar
    The Red Camel Home

I especially love the grab bags from Tribal Bazaar.

Sirik.com has lovely coins and jewelry.

Hmm...I'm not at home so I don't have my plethora of favorites. Those should get you going though.

this is going to sound odd, but find a rug importer. many of them have, or have access to, kuchi jewelry. If they don't have any and start to import it , you might be able to get a deal because you are recommending other dancers to them.

Ask me how I know this?

Are you near London? The Southall area has Indian fashions and jewelry.

Funny comment about the rug importer: Tribal Souk is part of a brick-and-mortar business that sells among other things rugs!
