make up that wont come off?
So I bought some make up today at Target....I saw a new display of stuff...that looked new..they had samples out of eyeliner pencils and liquid liner, ect...I put some on my hand to see the colors. So I buy one, and was going to practice today doing my makeup for a show on Sat.
Well the liquid liner wont come off. ...the pencils and the liquid eyeshadow..all from the same company came off....
so I look on the box and it says to removed with an oil based makeup remover?
Anyone had a problem like this before? soap and water didnt work and neither did my eye makeup remover....LOL..
I am afraid to do some makeup on my eyes knowing I cant even remove the color off my hand...
LOL
**is there anything specific to look for when buying "oil based makeup remover"? I have never bought that before

Re: make up that wont come off?
Many companies make oil based eye makeup remover. They usually say "good for removing long-wearing lipstick and waterproof mascara" or some such on the packaging.

Re: make up that wont come off?
so I just found this online:
** I tried the Olive oil and it worked!!! extra virgin too!! (wink)
Make-up Removers
1. Mineral oil : Mineral oil is best for remoing make up.it is even cheaper than baby oil.since, babay oil is nothing more than mineral oil with fragrence and both give same results.
2 Baby oil : If you don't have mineral oil, babay oil can be used.it works great and moisturises the skin.
3. Olive oil : Use olive oil from kitchen. It removes make up very easily.
4 Almod oil : Use sweet almond oil.It works great andis very cheap and good for the skin too.
5 Raw milk : Best alternativefor oily and all sin types:if you don't wana use any oil on your face for removing make up,best way is to dip cotton balls in raw milk and just wipe your face with it. It is the cheapest way of removing makeup.

I have been using the Almay eye make-up remover pads. They have both oil-free (sucks) and the oily ones. Works better than any of the others I have tried. I know that olive oil works well to.

Re: make up that wont come off?
I like the oil/water type makeup removers - where it separates in the bottle and you have to shake it up. lancome makes a lovely one. the almay oily pads work great, but they're messy. I love them anyway. and back in the day I used ponds cold cream. first thing I'd do when I got home from a gig was take a big cool handful of it and smear it all over my face... sigh. :)
a tip for taking off your game face: wash first with your regular cleanser, and then go back with the oily cleanser to take off what's still there. then you won't get so much gunk on your washcloth or cotton pads.

It's not very green of me but I swear by those make-up remover face wipes. I can take off full stage makeup with just one, if I'm thorough.

I love using Jojoba Oil for my eye makeup...it does not leave around my eyes dry or sticky
and I use natural based rose milk cleaner for my face from Dr Haushka or cannot recall the name now but something like "Eveheavenly"

Beauty Without Cruelty, a natural cosmetics company, actually makes an amaaaaaaazing eye makeup remover. I love it because it removes even the most stubborn MAC liquid eyeliners, without iritating my sensitive eyes. You can get this at any health food store.

Ditto on the jojoba oil - I use it on a cotton swab to remove my eye makeup (liner specifically) & it's great. No rubbing or scrubbing, just wipes right off.
