    hair piece help

A friend of mine gave me one of those synthetic ponytails held in place by a butterfly clip so when you put it on it looks like you have a long ponlytail. What are some ways to hide where it meets your head? It's like there is this pontail coming from nowhere on my head. Suggestions? ( I have fine hair so not much to work with)

You might tie a ribbon around it or put some combs in with jewels on them. I used a bunch of fresh flowers once and just pushed them into the phony pony and held them in place with bobby pins. You can also use some nice silk flowers. I also have used some of the head wraps that come with costumes to wrap around it.

Use part of the ponytail (a 1-inch section from underneath, say) to wrap around the base of it, à la I Dream of Jeanie.

I pull a section of my real hair forward. Like from the front of my ears. Then I do a french twist as the base to anchor the banana clip. Use hair pins. Once I have the hair clip in, I pull most of the my real hair which I seperated back over the top of the ponytail and clip in place, usually with a sparkly clip, although sometimes with a regular barrette, making sure to get both my real hair and hair from the pony tail into what ever I am using as a clip.

People come up and play with my hair pieces. they think they are real.

Surround it with your natural hair, if you could show a picture of it I could help you more.

I poke in sparkly chop sticks to hold some of the fake hair next to head. It also stabelizes the pony too.

I am looking for decent photos showing this, but not having a lot of luck. You might be able to get an idea from my youtubes tahirabellydancer
Specifically raqs B, and Cairo Carnival 2007

Checked out the video...looks to me like you can clip it in pull two 1/2 inch thick strands from the bottom up along the side and pin them at the top so that it drapes down covering the connection site.

Am I watching the right clip? Single dancer wearing purple? I couldn't see close enough on that one.

I have a sort of shag hair style so it's too short to wrap anything. But maybe I'll try the fresh flowers or wrapping pieces of the Phony pony
