I hope I typed that right. I've never bought anything on-line there because I'm about 90 minutes away, but my students have. They have hundreds of costumes on-line. The ladies are super nice and commited to good customer service. The prices are really good, only rivalled by Little Egypt in Garland, TX (who has a website, but doesn't show the individual costumes). They ship immediately and are quick to make refunds when you send something back.

but have no idea what happened to her. She has not added new costumes in quite some time.

I also like King of the Nile. Beaded Egyptian costumes. Their stuff is beautiful and well-made and they give complete sets of measurements for everything. They even measure and size their hipscarves.

Their costumes are different in that most (though not all) have modest choli-style tops that you wear a bra underneath. (On the one I have, though, I cinched the center front with a gathering thread to get cleavage.)

They seem to have specials quite often where every costume price is deeply discounted (I've seen 40% off, even 50% off), so if there's something you like but you're not in a hurry, you might save big by just keeping an eye on it.

don't forget sheherazade imports, usually get some nice stuff from abla's atalier

and for nice custom stuff, look up devadasi! she carries other bits, but her original designs, designed by her and vasha (now shaharazad?) are AMAZING!

I got really frustrated with this site. When I did communicate with K, she was quick, informative, and polite. But the lack of new material got old.

this is exciting! i have bought 2 costumes from K and my dance partner also bought 2 costumes from her. i like how much info she gives but sometimes that might be her barrier in doing faster turnaround. i waited almost 2 months for my costumes to ship, let alone get to me (i live in canada).

however, she packaged them so very nicely and included a small gift certificate to apologize for the slow turn around.

i think that she could benefit from an assistant- it's a lovely little online boutique (where there's newer stuff updated) with very reasonable pricing.
