    MAC eye makeup

I love the intense color for shadow and pencils, but now I have a problem with the "paint pots" just drying up. They are about 6 months old--is there any way to make them creamy again?

I found that wearing the natural biege color under my powder shadow has staying power all day long but am now considering trying Bare Escentuals "Prime Time". Any other suggestions?

I would say that 6 months for a creamy product to expire is a good indication that you should just get another one. I don't like to mess with old eye makeup.

I've used the MAC paints and they last longer than the pots, with just as good staying ability and more variety.

I like the paints better, too. I have one that I've had for a couple of years. on me they go on more evenly and crease much less than the stuff in the pots. so scrape out the dried out bits and save the pot to recycle and get a paint tube instead. :)

Thanks to both of you! Living in 2 places I have doubles of everything, and was just hoping to make them last longer. Elisa - the glass recycling is great...and Azhia - will you be doing raq the camera in NY?

    You're welcome!

I've sent out information in response to some inquiries but no bites yet!

I think once a paint pot has dried out there's nothing much you can do. Untitled and stillife are great bases in the paints range, they will last longer. Alternatively urban decay primer potion is widely described as one of the best primers on the market for shadows. Personally, I use mac mixing medium to make mine more vibrant and last longer.

I've been looking for a mixing medium; I'll have to try that (as much as I'm trying to avoid MAC).

I tried the UD Primer Potion and heard its accolades but personally I'm not too impressed with it. I don't like the consistency and feel that it makes my lid stickier, even after it dries. I don't notice anymore intensity or staying power than when I use nothing or foundation. I'd prefer the MAC Paint in Bare Canvas over the Primer Potion anyday.

I use the UD Primer Potion and my eye makeup not only stays on all day, but will also stay on all night if I don't take it off. I let the PP dry before applying eye shadow, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

I also started used L'Oreal HIP. I had some coupons, so I decided to try it, and I really like it!

It's totally a personal preference thing. Even after the Potion dries, I just don't like it. It's the stickiness as I'm applying it as well as its inability to hold my shadows. I don't even use it on clients.
Just like I know tons of people who love the Tarte cheek gels; can't stand those either! I guess what I wouldn't use for myself I wouldn't use it on others. But if a product works for you, by all means keep using it!

I've posted a link to them here which explains- scroll down, as they are near the bottom of the page. There are several different formulations for different purposes, but I use the liquid one for eyemakeup. They are a PRO product though, so can only be bought from certain mac stores.
