Sewing a Belt Into a Skirt
I have heard some people talk about sewing a belt into a fitted skirt so that it doesn't give muffin top? I was curious as to:
Has anyone done this?
How did you do it?
What did you use?
Did it help the skirt stay on better and prevent the muffin??

Re: Sewing a Belt Into a Skirt
I haven't sewn in a belt -- but I sew in nude boyshorts and I'm really happy with the results.

Re: Sewing a Belt Into a Skirt
Yes I have done it.
I have a yellow Pharaonics set: bra/belt with the Arabesque skirt and all the stuff it comes with.
I had issue with the skirt - it's pretty heavy, wide elastic was used originally, and because it was too tight it had the muffin top effect. On top of that there was the under skirt with another elastic, so it was just way too much for my hips.
I couldn't figure out what it was, if I made the elastic bigger, then it wouldn't hold the skirt.
So I sewed the skirt onto the belt and it was very comfortable, no problem at all. If the belt doesn't give you a "muffin top" then by sewing the skirt onto it won't either. Just make sure you don't sew it right at the top, attach it somewhere in the middle.
I ended up taking off the skirt because occasionally I do wash it, and I realized I can wear it with a gold set as well.
But I have the underskirt and overskirt sewn together and changed the elastic to a narrow one, so now it looks great.
