    Airbrush Makeup?

I'm considering learning how to do airbrush makeup, both for personal use and for troupe members for stage. Has anyone tried this? I'm considering buying a very good airbrush kit to avoid the horror stories I'm reading on blogs about Luminesse and HSN airbrush products. Temptu has some appealing foundation products for airbrush that are supposed to be sweatproof on stage!..g.:

Can you regale me with tales of your experiences? Much thanks.

Never used it but love watching the infomercials. I can't figure out for the life of me how they avoid painting their hair and everthing around them tho.

I'd be afraid to accidently inhale the foundation.

    Re: Airbrush Makeup?

From the research I've done, breathing in the foundation isn't a problem for the person being "done," although they do recommend that the artist wear a mask if they are doing several people at once (like a wedding party or a dance troupe). Anyway, for basic coverage you use only 4-6 drops of foundation and if a second "coat" is needed for better coverage, e.g., acne or rosacea, then you'd use 8-12 drops. My research has also yielded information on a fascinating array of airbrush makeup products, including spray-on moisturizer, primer, and sealer coat (sounds like you're painting a car!). The sealer coat is for when you're on stage in an exceptionally hot environment (think of Ren-faire in August) to prevent make-up migration. I've also found several reasonably priced instructional DVDs and videos. If I get really good at this, there are also tons of toys for different applications - sounds like TONS of fun - I LOVE toys!

If you are trying to air brush makeup yourself then you have to use 3-4 drops of foundations. Also to use the brush carefully you have to read number of blogs, portals and forums related to makeup. Also you can get help from the makeup artists according to your requirements.

A dance sister of mine recently got a kit - and our entire troupe went to her house to play. The results were pretty darn good as far as the application went - but I ended up with raccoon eyes, not the best look for me. Next time, we'll do something different.

Last night I was disappointed to learn that Sephora no longer carries Temptu. If anyone ever sees the pods available elsewhere (other than temptu directly) please let me know. It is an everyday indulgence for me that I never figured would not be readily available.
