Covering stretch marks for stage lighting

I need some advice on covering up stretch marks for stage lighting. The last stage show I was in, my mother told me the bright light made them shine silver and really stand out. Probably a side effect of being so damn pale. I tried self tanner but the marks never tan up the same way as my regular skin and I am afraid the bright lights would make them look even more prominent if the rest of me is tanned. I do not want to wear a body stocking. Any advice?

Is the stretchmarks on the stomach area or the legs?

dermablend or other kind of thick stage makeup with a layer of powder over it.

I have really really bad ones right over my hips, I guess I developed too fast or something... but I found out the hard way that they show after one performance... I cover them with makeup and then a layer of translucent powder, it works well through sweat and lights.

Dermablend! You can get a little kit with several colors from whatshebuys.com --or at least you could about a year ago, I'm still using my sample kit, the stuff really lasts.

You could also just use a matte foundation, like Maybelline's dream matte mousse -- but the dermablend will STAY ON once you set it with powder, even if you rub it with beads, with your veil, sweat on it, etc.

Another option -- lots of body glitter obscures stretch marks. Cheapest trick is to buy regular craft glitter and put it on over a thin layer of KY. Seriously, I learned that here on Bhuz from someone!

I second Dermablend. I have some pale silvery stretchmarks as well and I swear by the stuff!! As long as your stretchmarks are not the deeply grooved ones, the Dermablend will be perfect.

Thanks everyone, I'll look in to the dermablend and if all else fails I will glitter myself up like a disco ball.

Mine are deeply grooved, and short of spackle, there's nothing to be done about it. But the Dermablend sticks to the scar tissue anyway (my biggest concern, since it's such a different texture) and cuts down the shine for stage. Up close, like in a restaurant, only a body stocking will hide them.

    Dermaceal can cover blue/black tattoos-
    silvery stretchmarks is no match!:)

I *never* travel without a pot of the red neutralizer either-
it has saved me since I was 14yrs old, from having to stand big red blemishes.

    Special red or regular red?

Stardancer: try some Sally Hansen Airbrush legs, too!

This is a great post! I have deep stretch marks. My first son was huge and I went straight out (being as small as I am I have no room! LOL) I can't stand the stretch marks and did not know of any way to hide them. Thanks ladies!!
