Woah. Makeup Will Not Budge!
I've been experimenting with fixatives to keep makeup in place, especially against perspiration.
At the last RTC (Raq the Camera), the lights and summer time heat made many of the lovely dancers perspire. No makeup ran, actually, and I simply had to blot away the perspiration while all the makeup stayed in place.
However, I wanted to beef up the stay-in-put quotient and went out to search for a barrier/fixative spray. Kryolan has an excellent one. As does Mehron. (This URL lists & briefly describes both of them, as well as others). I was really interested in Mehron b/c their spray is a barrier as well as a fixative. Thus, you can spray it before makeup application and it forms a barrier, preventing allergic reactions to cosmetics and perspiration from ruining the makeup.
I went to the local pro store looking for Mehron but they didn't have it. I was handed a bottle of Green Marble SeLr. OMG. I don't know if all the fixatives do this but nothing budges. I discovered this when I blew my nose.
I was performing a sweat test with the Green Marble SeLr and did a makeup app, sprayed myself, and planned to do a whole day's worth of cleaning and running errands to test the product (I am the guinea pig and wouldn't use anything on anyone that I wouldn't use mysefl).
Normally if I'm wearing any kind of foundation, mineral, cream, liquid, what have you, and I blow my nose, there is a bit of product on the tissue. I just now blew my nose and there was no makeup on the tissue. I'm truly amazed.
I haven't started sweating yet b/c I am not a heavy sweater. I might have to take a jog or something...

VERY cool. And now for the removal...it is water soluable? LOL... my grand daughter wanted to know why my skin was so "sparkly and glittery" on Sunday morning at the soccer game.

Acrylic resins. Is that like the stuff they put in fake nails? LOL. Thanks for sharing. I always wondered how TV stars made it so their makeup wouldn't stain others clothes when they came in close proximity. Now we know.

I've been curious about fixatives ever since I saw the episode of "The Dog Whisperer" where he was helping the Wicked Witch of the West actress in "Wicked" when it was in L.A. They showed her getting her make-up done for the show and the make-up artist spritzed her with a fixative to keep all of the green make-up on her arms and face.

Can't wait to hear the full report!
I don't sweat a lot (lucky, I know) or have trouble keeping makeup on UNLESS it's a hot outdoor festival.
But I'd love a way to protect expensive costumes from cheap body bronzer!

I bought a fixative at Sephora. It's freaky - you spray it on and your face feels all damp and you'd think it would cause your makeup to run and come off, but no...
which is good because my eyeliner always runs and gives me racoon eyes.

Yes, I had forgotten about the other ways that a fixative could be useful: no makeup on the collar/costuming, no sweating it off.
With the Green Marble SeLr (and probably others) you can layer more makeup on top of it and each seal acts as a primer for the next.

I usually use Ben Nye fixative spray (smells minty and works VERY well), but I thought I'd give Green Marble a try - so I just ordered a bottle. I'll let you know how it works. And it will truly be put to the test - our troupe has a TON of performances over the next few months!

Speaking of make-up that won't budge - Target is carrying Jemma Kidd makeup and this eyeliner won't budge: JK Jemma Kidd I-Tech Liquid Liner Collection : Target I used the tester on my hand and tried jojoba oil on it when I got home - no dice. I had to scrape it off, which is kinda scary. But it won't run!!!!!

Bought it - received it - used it - LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!
And for the squeamish about spraying stuff on their face, this works equally well if you spray it onto a costmetic square and dab it on.

Sorry - for clarification, I was referring to the Green Marble brand that Azhia first mentioned.

I think Lesgemini Zafirah can vouch for the product. I spritzed her at roughly 10am. She attended a dance rehearsal at 1pm. When I saw her later at 7:30pm the makeup had not moved or smudged or faded.
