Thread: Costume storage boxes from IKEA

We recently discussed costume storage. Yesterday I found the perfect solution at IKEA, fabric boxes that are a bit bigger than a shoebox and that have a clear plastic front door. Perfect size for bra/belt sets, and a few accessories. Great price, too - 4/9.99!!! I will need to go back and get more.

Dang it. I have to fly to Chicago to shop at IKEA. That would be an expensive box.

What about online?

Are they collapsible so that when you don't need them, they don't take up too much space? Or are they permanently shaped like a shoebox?

They fold down flat!

I see IKEA stores all over the country suffer from a sudden depletion of this item's stock tonight, by gorgeous women who mutter something about "Eman, Pharonics, Bella, ..." ;-)

That's great, thanks! The nifty, perfectly sized boxes that I'd found at A&N weren't carried again after I cleaned them out!

Eeeeek! I priced online and to have them shipped was over $20 for two sets! No local store...

The Container store is also a good store if you don't have IKEA but I love IKEA but only go when they have a sale. Its a bit far for me

I've looked at the plastic boxes at Ikea for possible costume storage, but all the ones I saw in the store had lids that didn't snap on! The lids just sat on top of the boxes, without any way to anchor them on. That's OK for storage, but if I want to transport a costume, I want to be able to just grab the box and not worry about the lid falling off!

Wish I'd seen the fabric boxes that the original poster mentioned....those look perfect for the job!

Hmm, I live veeeerry close to an Ikea...

I have some like this from Bed Bath and Beyond. Not collapsable, though. And not as inexpensive - I think one is $7.99. But if you don't have an Ikea nearby, they will do!
