    Wings of Isis colors

Do you match your wings to your costume? Or is it best to stick with gold and /or silver for most versatility?

My fave wings are leopard print on one side and gold on the other-so they go with my gold stuff and my leopard print.I also have wings that tone in with different colours of most of my costumes. I guess though if i was only going to get one pair it would be either gold or silver lame depending on which went with most costumes-as I teach wings i have a lot of them, all colours and fabrics that I use and I use for teaching

Thanks all for your input. I have the opportunity to get a double pair of wings from Ayshe in NY. They're not cheap, but the fabrics in my opinion are superior to a lot of the ones I've seen for sale in various places. She does some sets with the swallow tail wings in sparkly net to drape the front of the body and the full blown wings in lame or organza to cover the back. She has a rather large portfolio of available fabrics and colors, so much so that it is really hard to decide! She's going to send me some swatches though so that I can see how they look with my costumes. Can't wait! I've seen beautiful sets on her in red and other colours like purple and black. The silver lame and white sounds gorgeous too. Sigh....belly dancing is turning out to be more expensive than I thought....but what a way to go!

I have a pair of ayshe's wings in irridescent turquoise organza (I asked for "turquoise organza" and she sent me six swatches to choose from!). my wings have a soap bubble sheen to them, which I chose because it looks pretty in daylight and also on stage.

anyhow, my wings go with my turquoise costume, my pink, my purple butterfly, my teal, my red and turquoise, my royal blue, and my gold bedlah depending on what skirt I pair it with. so for me, turquoise was a lot more versatile than either gold or silver. they go with everything except earth tones.

On this same line, I have a set of iridescent peach wings. Whatever do I wear with them??? I thought about my bright blue costume. I don't do pastels. Well, I guess I do for wings.
    Thanks!

I have white irridescent--they go with everything (and have the added benefit of being great "angel wings" at halloween or Christmas hee hee...). I really want some gold ones, though, when I have extra $$....if that ever happens in this economy again...

Frugal is probably wise in this economy. But I had the chance last year to buy the wings set and didn't because I didn't think I could spend the money. Now this year I have a little money to spend (emphasis on little), and I figure you have to do your part to keep the economy going. Unfortunately, the first area to get hit in bad times is usually the live entertainment business. Let's hope the Senate gets their amended bill through and that it goes to the House ASAP!!!!

Mine are both in contrasting colors to my costumes. I've got a sage green pair and an iridescent orange pair.

    I do have a secret yearning for a double-sided pair like Candi's
