    reversing the age clock

Hi ladies, for the first time in my life, today I received Restyline and Botox.

Immediate results from Restyline, I love it!!!! Botox, we'll see how it works.

I look younger, will ask my dance mates what they think tonight.

restyline is a line filler, there are others, too (juvederm, radiesse). My doctor filled the lines down from my nose, tiny marionette lines at the outside corners of my mouth, one frown line between my brows and on my upper cheeks at the bottom of eye pouches. What a difference! I'm in love!! Botox will take 3-7 days to be fully effective, I can still frown.

My eyes were closed during the injections, I didn't want to see the needle. After the doctor was done and I opened my eyes, they were watery. Yes, it hurt a little - certain parts of the face are more sensitive. They used prescription numbing cream first and after they took that off, used ice to numb even more. Normally it lasts for six months (Restylane) other "facial putty's" (Radiesse and Juvederm) last one year. Restylane hurt more than Botox. I'll be back in six months, think I'm addicted until I tip over for the last time.

One of my friends, who works in the fashion/beauty industry, raves about restylane. She had it done in her top lip, which she considers thin, and it's subtle but looks great. I suspect she's had it in many other places too.

The one thing that puts me off Botox (apart from the cost) is the immobile forehead look you get when it's fresh. It looks scary.

Well, I was going to keep silent, but I saw this thread and said what the heck. I, too, had Botox done a few weeks ago and love it! I had it done between my brows, on my forehead and on either side of my eyes. No numbing cream was used but the needles were tiny. Then, I went back a week later and had Juvederm done on my nasolabial lines. You buy Juvederm by the syringe and it took less than one to fill the lines so I had the extra put in my upper lip - a very tiny amount. I am extremely happy with the results. For the Juvederm, I was given a dental block. I had only a small amount of swelling and two tiny bruises, one on a nasolabial line, the other on my lip. Both were easy to conceal.

It took 3 days for me to start to see and feel the Botox results; 5 days for the full effect. I am definitely hooked.

Was interested in Restyline. Is it outrageously expensive? $$

And if you notice the results immediately, is it a radical difference or would anyone know if you didn't tell them?

HookedNovice, when my friend had it in her lip I would not have noticed. And I'm pretty sure she's had it elsewhere, but I haven't discussed it with her (we live in different cities now) - she just looks "fresh". Of course, that could just be the La Mer face cream she gets supplied to her as a beauty editor...

I think it is expensive, don't know how much. I had some spots removed from my arms and they messed up so the Restylane and Botox were freebies to make up for it. The difference is subtle, realistic - I don't think most people would be able to pinpoint what's different, the face just look better.
