Two things: yarn hair falls and fabric sale
First. I tried to do a thread search to see if there are any tips on making yarn hair, but I couldn't find one. Please post how-to's here. Thanks. ..g.:
Second. Hancock Fabrics is having a sale on crushed panne for $2.99 yd. It is usually $5.99 yd. They have many more color choices than Joann's. Check it out! Hancock Fabrics Sale lasts until Oct 15. .w.:

Although it is not listed on their site as "stretch" panne, I called all 4 stores within 30 miles of my house and they all said it IS stretch panne velvet. YAY!

I would have recommended the DIY belly dance tribe on tribe.net, but... sadly, tribe is fubar...c::
I did find this link: Belly Dance Tips: Cowrie hair falls for tribal belly dancing
and this:

Re: Two things: yarn hair falls and fabric sale
Thanks for the tip off, I went and bought 6 yards of the velvet! It looks really good. I bought 2 patterns, one for some straight looking pants and another for a mermaid skirt. I plan to try to "copy" the look of Melos using the flaring out like the mermaid skirt penels- BUT, I don't own any Melos, and need advice! Off to find a thread on that!

What sort of yarn falls we talkin' here?
Easiest way: find yarn you like, cut to desired length, attach to your preferred holder (strip of lace to tie to hair, elastic for the funky pullthrough, hair clip, or comb).
Or do you mean making dreadfalls from wool yarns? That's different.

You can easily adapt yarnfalls using these instructions.
