Good Old American Makeup?
I swap products with a business associate in Paris. In exchange I receive French perfume and the latest European facial creams. I am presently packing a box of Bare Minerals and Mac and was thinking...gee, what about the plain old Maybelline define a lash mascara I use every day....can anybody suggest other items from the US?

I remember some of the European Bhuzzers saying that some of our drugstore lines are top-dollar cosmetics over there, but I can't remember which ones.
Revlon? Cover Girl? Max Factor? L'Oreal? Neutrogena? Eurobhuzzers, help a girl out!

It's not really makeup, but the cafe au lait soap from Basin is yummy!

Maybelline is actually part of L'Oreal, which is a French company. All the Estee Lauder brands ( which include Clinique, MAC, Origins, Bobbi Brown, Prescripteves, and EL) are American. Revlon is also an American brand.

Maybelline is called Jade in Europe (or at least Germany), so they definitely have it.
I think we have some really nice organic brands, Burt's Bees is one, I also really like Collective Wellbeing. Their honey buff scurb wowed some of my European girl friends. I also like Physician's Formula and the American Beauty line that I discovered by accident at Kohls.

Yeah, get Burt's bees! It's made here in Durham! :) What about something fun like Sally Hansen or Tom's of Maine?

Another thougt here. If you want to send her something with a uniquely "American" image, how about Benefit or Too Faced? I love their kitschy, campy, 50s packaging. They are so cool.

How about Avon? It's all-American suburban stuff, kinda like tupperware.

Great ideas, thank you! Picked up some Burt's Bees & also some organic Hawaiian Alba Botanical skin care products by Avalon Organics from the drug store. Will try the Whole Foods cosmetic section later, then off to the mall.
Never thought of Avon - maybe there will be a vendor at the mall. I use their skin so soft as an insect repellent, but I need to use caution with shipping anything liquid.

Send her some BPAL perfume oils!
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Perfume Oils: Welcome to the Lab
Or if she's got a good sense of humor, send her some Pussy Pucker Pots 100% vegan lip balm! :) I have the "Strawberry Snatch" flavor, and it's very fun.
Pussy Pucker Pots: 100% Natural, 100% Naughty, 100% Vegan Lip Balm for Ladies!

Maybelline GreatLash mascara, surely. A classic for the ages.
To me the ultimate American makeup line is Revlon. Everything about it seems so.... American. Especially the nail varnishes.
