Where to buy chain for coins?
Anyone know where can I get lightweight, inexpensive gold chain -- and jumprings -- to attach gold coins to a costume?

I would look in the jewelry making section at JoAnn fabrics. I've seen stuff like that there, although I've never purchased any.

You can buy gold chain at your local Lowe's or Home Depot for about 90 cents a foot! My instructor also taught us to use old broken necklace links as jumprings too.

Re: Where to buy chain for coins?
Hi, I was looking for this myself (last week).
Our local Joanne's only had chain in silver, or antiqued brass, and NO spaces for gold.
Plus they only carry the SILVER coins.
They need someone to help make orders or something!
Our local Ace hardwared didn't have any style chain I would want to put on my costume (that I could find).
:-(
If you find a good source, please let me know, PM me please. :-)

Hobby Lobby is also another source as well as Michael's--speaking as a craft junky!

Wal-Mart often has cheap metal chain.
I just bought some silver metal paillette trim from them for $3/yd. A few days later, I saw the exact same trim at Jo-Ann for $9/yd. As much as I hate Wal-Mart, I can't argue with that kind of bargain.

My favorite place in the entire world (slight exaggeration)
Berger Beads - Since 1941 your source for beads, swarovski crystals, rhinestones, sequins, seed beads, and glass jewels.
And I use their split jump rings for coins. You lose fewer that way!

Well worth a trip to the garment district isn't it Tahira? And they have great sequins too at a reasonable price!
