Thread: Bra size vs costume cup measurement you wear

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is too personal (I am a newbie, so not sure what the etiquette is), but would people mind posting what their bra size is and what costume bra dimensions they wear? I'm a 28F(ish) and had my first costume try on session recently. I was really surprised to find that the costume bras that looked best on me were around 5.5 high and 6.5 wide (the costume I bought was advertised as a C cup). I'm presuming there is an element of preference in play too, as to the amount of cleavage people are OK with showing... This means that lots of the costumes here that I thought would never contain the girls are now a possibility - but I'm also interested for future purchases to see what sort of advertised bra sizes might work for me (and who else here might have costumes for sale that would fit). Maybe other people would find this useful too.

From what I've heard, a lot of the Egypt are a standard size, unlike in the US where they are proportional to the band size. The most important thing for you, wowuld be to use those measurements you got from the costume you tried on to find the right cup size.

#4-6 1/4"V 7" H

Now, these are how I measure and I am going off memory so all feel free to correct me! I also primarily wear pharonics costumes. I find with a #4, I have impressive but not obscene cleavage. #5-perfect cleavage. #6-need to put some pads in there! But yes, it does vary on the shape of the cup, the shape of your boobs-how you have the shoulder straps, etc. Its crazy!

Something important you could do would be to measure the inside of a bra that fits you well. This is a great strating point because you know the bra fits!

I am an A size but normally wear my costumes bigger than that With loads of padding of course.

And it's not only the size but also the shape and the way the straps are placed.
A well-constructed C-cup might fit better than a baldy made B-cup.

The key is to try everything on that you like and is remotely your size. Most of the time you will have to adjust straps / cup placement anyway.

It also depends on the shape of the bra. Both my Bella and Sim were considered D's but because the cups weren't very deep, they just didn't fit properly. I miss the coin Sim!

egyptian cup sizes 1 2 3 4 5 6 correspond roughly to A B C D DD E - on a 34 or 36 bra band.

the volume on the cup of a (american or european) 38C bra is going to be WAY bigger than the volume of a 32C. a 38C cup would correspond to a 32E cup. HOWEVER in egyptian cup sizes, a 4 is a 4 is a 4, no matter what the rib measurement.

from trolling all the costume swaps, most people, if they describe a bra as a B cup or C cup, they mean on a 34 or 36 band. soooo...

a 34D (AKA an egyptian 4) = 32DD = 30E = 28F. most folks can stuff a size up and squeeze a size down. so you may well fit into a bra described as a C or D cup, especially if the seller has a rib measurement of 32 or more.

you have a teeny tiny ribcage! on the swap pages, look for bras listed as D or full Cs and you should have good luck.

you'll eventually be able to eyeball a costume on a person, and knowing their street bra size, know if it will fit you.

Yes indeed, I agree. Thanks so much. I guess that this means that my poor daughter is probably an Egyptian 8 or 9. I think the only way we'll get her taken care of is by custom order. sigh

another note on the egyptian cups: to wear a cup size 6 you'll probably need to be a bra band 36 or larger, or have a ribcage that is wide from the front and narrow from the side (a plank, vs. a pole). I'm a 32F and while I bust out a bit from a shallower size 5, a six is so wide on me I can't wear it.

..l;,..l;,..l;,I'm not laughing at you, really, but as you get accustom to bhuz you'll soon realize that bra size is almost ALL we talk about! Especially on the swap meet page! The scary point comes when you start learning other bhuzzer's sizes so you know what will fit you even before you open the thread!!!

And then you start to stalk them. I have had a few people send me PM's saying, have you gotten tired of that costume you bought from so and so? It works!
