bedlahs for a troupe
Does anyone have a good wholesale or bulk vendor for troupe costumes? I'm looking for a turkish style bedlah, not the lycra egyptian costumes that BellyDance with K carries.
I've been looking around on a few sites, but most of the wholesale vendors have really cheap looking bedlahs. I want to spend between $150-$250 each but I want something nice, that will stand up to heavy use and will look nice.
All suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

Hey Jess! Did you ever see my gold set (usually wore it with red L. Rose?) Those run $175-$250...more Egyptian cupped-butt than Turkish however...

If you have plenty of time to get a custom order, Dahlal's "Beyond the Basics II" are nice. They're $165. Look under "Egyptian" then "Bra and Belt Sets".

If you are looking for basic Turkish costumes, Turkish Emporium is a good resource and they will do wholesale / troupe costumes at a decent price!

Re: bedlahs for a troupe
If you have any curvy gals and can't find a bedlah, I have a beyond-the-basic Turkish bedlah with accessories that I would like to sell. It is holographic silver and holographic gold. Goes with everything. 38-40 full D, small DD bra, and 42" hip.

LOL. That's one we've got our eye on. Troupemate Shahla just posted "Anyone seen this costume" in this forum about that very costume.
Do you have any personal experience with the fit or technical design of that costume? We're custom costume snobs ..l;,and dancers in the troupe are worried about "off-the-rack" fit!

Re: bedlahs for a troupe
I used Turkish Emporium in the past. It had its pros and cons. I thought the costumes came out pretty, and my troupe looked beautiful in them, but there were some frustrations along the way as well. The biggest frustration was that some of the bras weren't stitched very well, and pulled apart in the front between the cups when the dancers received them and tried them on. Eek! Of course, a good stitching on a sewing machine fixed this problem, but I had a lot of annoyed troupe members. Once people checked their stitching reinforced it as needed, our appreciation for the costumes rapidly improved.

Re: bedlahs for a troupe
Our troupe got the Beyond the Basics in gold and they served us well for a few years. I'm a 36F and the bra I got fits really well (I actually think it was a 38DD) but what I like about it is that the cups are nice and high on the sides to prevent spillage. They fit the smaller girls well too. We wore them so much they've disintigrated.

Re: bedlahs for a troupe
Elljay,
I noticed that you guys also went for a silver look, but in those, you have a variety of costume styles in the same shade of silver. As a troupe, which look did you find had more visual appeal--the uniform look of everyone in the same costume or the slight variations? What would you say were the pros & cons of each option?
