Thread: Best dance pants for chubby shorties?

All this dancewear talk has been intriguing and has given me the itch to try some online shopping for dance pants. I'm 4'10" and a size 12 on the bottom...needless to say I have chubby legs (and always will, no matter what size I am). I'd like to find some flare-legged pants that won't hug my thighs too much, showcasing my impressive amount of cellulite. Harem pants obviously fit the bill though they don't always fit the costume. Does anyone out there have a good source of dance pants that are Rubenesque body friendly? Thanks!

I have 2 pair of their bellbottoms (I am also a size 12), and I absolutely LOVE their pants!!!! I don't recommend getting the hip hugger style though . . . . they tend to show crack when you bend down, but the original style of bellbottoms are pretty low anyway, and they have a nice V shape in the front . . . very lovely for tribal or cabaret . . . .

These are not specifically dance pants, but nice heavier-weight knit are wide-legged and don't show skin ripples and such. They come in petite and are on sale if you buy two! Good winter dance pant. Same parent company as Victoria's Secret so sizes run a bit big.

(They have a wide waistband but the elastic inside is still narrow, so while good for thigh and butt issues, not so hot for any belly roll issues.)

I agree with the other posters about L Rose. I have the modified bellbottoms in black velvet, black lycra, and royal blue velvet. I'm 5'2", probably about a size 6 or 8 on the bottom. Those pants make me look so tall and thin, they are amazing. I just ordered another pair, the regular bellbottoms, for that really full look. They wash well also. The only bad part is the black picks up all the dog hair ( but I love that little Golden ).

I'm a big fan of both Geisha Moth and Desert Dancer Imports... they both do custom sizing AND inseams :)
