Product rave: Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs!
If you haven't tried this product yet, it's awesome! I have some issues with spider and varicose veins (even at my young age, sigh), and I've often wished for a product that would cover my flaws without being obvious.
I tried Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs last night in "Nude Glow" since I'm pale, and it was fantastic! It gave my legs a smooth color without being obvious, and although I could feel that I had makeup on my legs, there was little color transfer.
I also used it on my midriff, and it did a great job blending stretchmarks (I have some old silvery ones over my hips) and making them less shiny. Checking the waistband of the skirt I wore to and from my gigs last night, I only noticed a slight color transfer.
I would think that if you used a spray glitter on top of the makeup, you'd have a lovely smooth look!
I tried this product because I wanted to disguise flaws without tanning or using a self-tanner. I used the product that was closest to my skin tone and it worked great!
I'll definitely make sure I keep this onhand!

Great news! Is it a spray or a liquid? I love DermaBlend but wouldn't mind finding something that's easier to apply.

Ah yes... I used this type of product when used to practice karate to hide the bruising on my legs. I have once used the Sally Hansen one and it was great, but forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me :)
I must admit that i´m a big fan of Sally Hansen lip plumper. I really works... stings like a bee at first and then you go pouting like a duck.

I've been using this for a few years now since Fahtiem suggested it. If you haven't tried it yet, go one shade lighter than you think you are if you're in between shades.
It's also very tricky to get off...I was applying to my hands and then rubbing it on, which gets great coverage, but then you have orangey palms for a day or two! Spraying it directly on is messy but I've opted to stand in the bathtub and immediately rinse down the overspray rather than deal with the palm residue.
ETA it just occured to me that a make-up sponge would probably be a great application method! I'll be tryin that next week!Last edited by nasila; 10-26-2008 at 03:19 PM.

Re: Product rave: Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs!
It doesn't go nearly light enough for me. I tried it and it was SO many shades darker than my skin- I looked like a had a weird skin condition on my knees or something :( I imagine it also doesn't go nearly dark enough for others. :(
Hopefully one day a company will come out with a product and include a wider range of color variation.

Oh,that´s great to read-
A good tip for those who can wear the colors that Sally Hansen offers:)
I´m pale(NC 15)and have used a spray-on foundation by Lumene for veins,stretch marks and bacne;D
I also have giant café au lait birthmarks on my body...
explains my obsession with body stockings, boleros and more covering costumes.
Don´t know if Lumene is avaliable outside Scandinavia though?

My one complaint about being white (really) - there are so few shades of makeup out there for really pale skin!
Although this shade seems to be okay for me, I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for something even paler, for if I ever wanted to look really gothy or vintage (or for wintertime, when I'm even paler than I am now).

How long does this stay on? Is it basically sunless tanner? Also, has anyone with sensitive skin tried it? Any reactions?

I'd say it's more like a foundation than a self tanner, since it's meant to cover the legs all day like pantyhose. I rate it about equal with colorstay foundation for your face. Stays on well, since my legs don't sweat much there's not a whole lot of opportunity for the color to run. Takes a good soap and water to wash it off.

~hating my yucky stretchmarks and spider veins too!~

One thing, it does make a matte finish. Sally Hansen has another product, which is a shimmer spray, that I intend to try over the airbrush legs to see if it makes a more lustrous finish.

Re: Product rave: Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs!
I use the Sally Hanson Airbrush stuff and mix it with my lotion. I have a lot of scars, mainly old chicken pox ones but a few others from my not so happy days, on my upper arms and chest plus the lovely vericose veins on my legs from mom's side of the family. I just take a handful of lotion, then spray the color into it and mix, then apply over all my not so lovely bits. The lotion thins out the color enough that it's not off from my skin shade and seems to help with making sure the color goes on evenly instead of turning up odd dark or missed spots. Once I'm done I take a loose face powder and dust that over the top to set the color and keep it from rubbing off. It works really well for me.

I hate, hate, hate the veins in my legs (yeah, even at 28 they're showing up a bit--got them from my mom), and I may try this.

Re: Product rave: Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs!
I do this sometimes too, mixing it with a shimmery lotion (Benefit's Flamingo Fancy) to reduce the matte effect and give it a little sheen. It does seem to come off easier using this method (but also is more likely to bleed onto costumes).
Tex, I want to know what kind of soap you use, cuz I have to SCRUB that stuff off!!

Re: Product rave: Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs!
I like to use my mineral powder foundation on problem spots.
This is personal, but I even put it on my armpits, if my shave wasn't that great...
I use an old (but clean) blush brush to apply to whatever my problem spot is.
And I keep it in my gig bag, if I forget to cover something or need a touch up.

Re: Product rave: Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs!
Another fan of this product here!!!
I've been using it for years when I go out and stupid me never thought of it for when I dance---duh!
I tried the first time when I went on cruise and not wearing nylons started to become the "in thing" I was too self concious to go without, and no one can believe that my legs look that great when I use it!
It does take a good washing to get it off---I just take soap and a washcloth---it's worth it for me because it just works so well.
