    great loop surgery?

Just a minor nip tuck no major procedure! I am thinking about removing a few of the bottom loops (maybe 2 or 3) on the bra for 2 reasons...I am petite so I'd like my torso to look longer and because I do a lot of belly work and don't want to cover it up. Has anyone done this? Any thoughts?

are you worried about it unravelling? I lost a bottom strand on my belt lately, and it didn't cause the next loop to unravel.

take off the bottom strand, and then tug on either side of the next one to see if the thread is connected. if so, when you cut the last loop off, leave 4" or so of thread so you can knot it.

Or cut in the center hang of the strand, remove the beads, then knot, (and a touch of fraycheck), where the strand hung from the bra on both ends (I hope I made sense here)

I was really asking, not only for a how to, but also wondering if it will make the costume look un-balanced. Now I notice that the loops on the bra are much bigger than the ones on the belt so I really have some leeway.
Thank your for the advice of how to go about the procedure!

    Re: great loop surgery?

I have cut some lines out of the loop before.
To me it looked too dense and actually too short, I wanted more coverage.
I cut some of the strings in the middle, took off the beads, then tied/cut the thread on the sides. I had thinned out the loops somewhat and added more with the same beads and bigger, chunkier beads.
I liked it like that, I actually sold t to a bhuzzer here a while ago (it was copper). I probably still have somepictrues, I took close ups as well.

It's not that hard to do, and if you feel it's too long for you, take off some of the bottom strings of the bra in the middle.

If you're worried how it will look on you, you could always take a photo and then play with removing strands in Photoshop. That may save you the time of reversing things.

I took loops off of mine and think it looks much more flattering to my body. I took loops off of the cups and the middle and it looks great.

Oh...that looks really good! That is exactly what I need to do to keep the classic look, but show off my belly rolls and elongate my torso.
    Thank you!!
Now I can procede with surgery..g.:
BTW Samiramirage how did you do it?

    Re: great loop surgery?

No I haven't! I tucked the loops up under the bra band and practiced that way so I'd get an idea of how many loops I want to remove. I have determined about 10! I plan on doing it this week. I have to say that I am a little chicken. I am afraid if I do a loop-ectomy ,r:; that no one will want to buy if I want to sell later. I wish I could remove them, but keep them intact for reattachment later if someone wanted to do that. I have no intentions of selling anytime soon...but that thought just crossed my mind.

My theory is that a costume should fit MY body just right or I just don't want to wear it. I have had really nice sets just sitting in my closet because they had too much fringe there or were a little too loose there. Nothing better than a perfect fit for your body, I know it makes me dance better. I bet if and when you wnat to resell you will find someone else who likes the shorter loop look. Good luck!
