whitening toothpaste causing sensitivity?
anyone else experience this? I switched to a new sample toothpaste the whitening kind about two weeks ago and suddenly my teeth hurt. I was reading a few things online how it could cause sensitivity, what does it feel like (anyone else experience this)

Re: whitening toothpaste causing sensitivity?
YES! I found that using any whitening toothpaste caused my teeth to ache (nerve pain -- like scratching fingernails on a blackboard, only deep bass -- if that is translatable??) whenever I ate something sweet, cold or hot. Had to stop using that toothpaste and also White Strips -- just wasn't worth the pain. Goes away in about a week. Yeesh.

Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide helps whiten a bit, too, without the sensitivity thang. At least for me.

You also may want to try a baking soda based tooth paste. I have had good luck with the whitening properties of those in the past.

I use Aquafresh Whitening and it doesnt hurt my teeth. I have heard that about the whitening strips and the professional whitening though.

Actual baking soda and actual peroxide on your brush is not bad. I have really really bad coffee teeth. They're naturally cream/ivory teeth anyway but thanks to coffee they are quite yellow. It sucks, rather.
