    Covering up Scars?

So, a week ago today, I splashed hot olive oil on my belly. I got home from class around 10, was really hungry, and didn't bother to change out of my dance clothes or put on an apron - silly silly silly me!

The result was an open wound the size of a fingerprint three inches over from my belly button. It's healing just fine, and I have a good scar cream ready to go as soon as it's done, but I think there's going to be a mark there for a while.

I haven't been performing much (am also dealing with a hip injury), but I have a competition coming up on two weeks, so now I've got to figure out how to cover this thing up.

Worst-case, I can wear a mesh cover, but I'm hoping it will be smooth enough to cover with makeup. Any tips?

Am sorely tempted to go looking for glitter bandaids...

If it is really healed and it is still red, you could try just using green concealer. I know that Azhia does an example of covering the red in her tat on her video and wow! If it is still open tho, don't put anything on it, just use a belly cover.

Vitamin E helps speed up the recovery and reduces the scar. I bought some Vitamin E capsules, pricked a hole in one with a pin to squeeze the liquid out.

Yeah, that was unpleasant. It's healing pretty well, but it's in the itchy phase. :( I'm mostly concerned about having a scar right smack on the belly.

If this had happened before the smoking ban, I could have make up some stories about jealous audience members with cigarettes...
