Chiffon Circle Skirt ?
Hi ladies, whats the minimal time for a chiffon circle skirt to hang? 2-3 weeks long enough?

Definitely. I usually allow 10 days. Of course there's ways to speed the process but IMO 2-3 weeks should be more than adequate.

That's a good length of time. If the fabric is washable like chiffon, I get it soaking wet and hang it in the shower to dry. By the time it's dry it's pretty much hung long enough. I've never had any problems with the ones I've done this way.

I usually wait 2 - 3 weeks. Another thing you can do to hurry the process is put clothes pins on the hem while it hangs.

I ask because Im about to order a chiffon circle skirt from L Rose and pay the super duper extra shipping to get it here in 3 weeks. I was worried that it wouldnt be enough time to let the skirt hang.

Having purchased skirts from L Rose in the past, I don't believe they hang theirs at all. I absolutely love most of their stuff, but I don't like their circle skirts. The hems are always uneven when I get them. It might be worth giving them a call and discussing it with them before you order.

Re: Chiffon Circle Skirt ?
I usually only hang mine for a day or so. I get them wet, then I clip a clothespin on each of the points where the bias will cause it to stretch. Since I started doing that, I haven't had much of an issue with post-hemming stretch along the bias.
If you can sew, it's a pretty easy task to make a circle skirt for yourself. But working with chiffon is tricky if you haven't done it before. There are tricks for quick cutting (I wrote an article out on this late last year for bhuzzers: http://www.bhuz.com/forum/vbnews.php...o-make-a-skirt), there are tricks for sewing a hem quickly (use a roll-hem foot), and you just generally have to get used to the way it slithers about as you're working with it. I can make a circle & 1/2 skirt in about 1.5 hours (.75 hours to cut the skirt then sew back panels together and put on waistband + .75 hours to cut and sew hem and sew sequin trimming on the hem), but I've made maybe 15 of them.
I haven't bought a circle skirt from LRose, so can't comment on how they would do it.
