    loop technicalities

don't make fun of my doodle :)
(actually, you can, it's almost 4am lol, I'll prolly make fun of it in the morning ^^)

So yeah, fringe loops on costumes!
    how do they work?
what i'm wondering is, how are they attached in the back.

for the bra it's not a huge issue, i'm just wondering, do the loops come back up just under the arm? do they meet up the the middle of the back? (don't often get to see costumes from behind -- trying to see what looks best)

now for the belt is more complicated. because often belts open on one side in order to be put on. so belts that have loops of fringe on the sides, where do the loops attach?

in case i'm not too clear, the loops i'm talking about are loops of fringe shown in red on the doodle below:

I don't have an answer to your question - but nice 4am drawing.
Interested in finding out the answer as well.

The loops attach on either side of the bra clasp in the back.

For the belt, the solutions are to make the belt a front close with a center medallion, or in the case of a costume I made with a coin drape, I use a hook to attach the drape to the front of the belt after I hook it on the side. For ease in dressing, though, I recommend that you do a front close belt if you want to do drapes or loops.

    Re: loop technicalities

So I was thinking of adding some to a costume i have. it's a side closing one. i had thought of using a little hook or something but was worried the hook might come undone through vigorous dancing. Tamra, do you have any pics or yours? you never had problems with it coming undone?

is there anything i need to know before adding the loops? like, long loops make you look short, or, don't use heavy beads cos it hurts when they hit you or whatnot lol

    thanks! :)
