I love love love Fresh Moroccan, it's my staple lipstick. I'm allergic to most lipsticks and I don't react too badly to it. It's a great one for redheads. I also love Sexie, but sadly that one was a special made for Eddie Izzard so I will cry and cry when I run out of it. It's a dramatic deep red with some sparkle to it, and it somehow manages to match my skin tone very nicely. I'm so pale that lipsticks can turn me odd colors.

I like Dubonnet a lot, but that one is inevitably all over my teeth. Fresh Moroccan is pretty good at staying put.

Another big vote for Hot Moroccan! Love that color and use it most of the time - on and off stage. Oops! Fresh Moroccan! hot, fresh, ... it's a great color!

Just got my Fresh Moroccan a few weeks ago and I'm loving it!! Also picked up Frost, which isn't as dramatic, but very plummy and frosty and wintry. I like it lots!!

I love Fresh Moroccan! (I have met a few fresh Moroccans in my day).

Russian Red was what Madonna wore during her Blonde Ambition tour. Need we say more about how this color projects from the stage? This is the color I wear for most photoshoots too.

Ruby Woo is a great bright red too. It is the color they use for vintage pin-up shoots and films that take place before 1950. It is really close to historic lipstick red.

I am still looking for a nice nude. (Not a nude fresh moroccan).

I used to wear Mac Lipstick until I discovered Senegence Lip Paint!!!!!! You cannot kiss it off, it never gets on a glass or cup and never, ever on the teeth. You paint your lips before an evening on the town or dancing and put a gloss or gold or silver gloss on top and you are good for hours. Simply the very best.

On me, Russian Red is a true red, and it stays that way without looking too purply, which a lot of blue reds do on me for some reason. I think it may lean *very* slightly towards brick but only a smidgen. It's bluer than it is orange, that's for sure. Madonna wore it on her "Blonde Ambition" tour, so think that look - very old-fashioned, 30s/40s kind of red to me.

A friend gave me MAC Red, which is almost the same but a bit glossier, clearer and brighter. I don't actually like it as much.

Don't forget to save your old tubes of MAC lipsticks. With every 6 left over product cases like a lipstick tube or shadow holder, you get a free lipstick at MAC. Yaaaa....

Right now I'm loving Dark Shade. I usually like to wear Diva or Viva Glam but recently I decided to try something new.

I can't rave enough about Makeupalley - Street Smart Beauty - Homepage for makeup recommendations and swatch pictures (helpful if you need to order online) - i waste so much time on there! They have a picture search function, literally thousands of reviews of all brands and the gals on the forums there are pretty helpful. But back to the mac! My faves (bearing in mind that i am dark haired with pale pinky toned skin, so don't tend to suit warm tones, peaches and browns) are:

Russian Red - Dita wears this too
Diva - deep pink which i wear dabbed into my lips as a stain
Redwood - a softer red which makes me think of snow white
Lady danger - orange red which would look fab with citrus costumes
Glam - pinky fuchsia red

I can't get the mac peach/brown nudes to work for me - i think they seem to work better on olive toned gals. My hg non pink nude is CD shiniest beige - it's beigy but so sheer it's perfect.

I have to jump in on this thread since I have worked for MAC for 6 years!!!

I love just Brick lipliner blended well with gloss (ie...Love Nectar, Big Baby, Nice Buzz, Nymphette, oooohhhh, the list goes on and on and on and.......)

havent tried the brick lipliner yet...on my list of things to do. Dubonnet changes colors on me, I wanted to love it but for some reason its not my favorite red.

I am looking for a good nude lip for darker skinned olive people too. I too have pretty pigmented lips naturally and the stuff that loooks nude on many looks deathly on me. Any suggestions?

Got one for you, bubelah, as my natural lip color is a pinky-mauve color...

MAC "Stripdown" liner
MAC "Honey Love" lipstick (matte)
URBAN DECAY "Rocket" (gloss)

This combo with a gloss on top of a matte creates plump nude lips.

I used "Dubonnet" lipstick with "Brick" lipliner for the MU DVD but I cannot stand red lipstick on me (nor any article of clothing on me that is red, EXCEPT for that feather top, that's IT). It was a pretty true red on my mouth. I deepened it a bit with brown eye shadow underneath.

Soooooooo surprised nobody's mentioned Cosmo!

Cosmo is the unsung hero of the MAC nudes. OK, maybe a little more of a sultry rose than a nude. Very rich, velvety, non-shimmer semi-gloss finish. But I love it because it's about two shades darker than my natural lips and makes them look totally plump and sexy. Seems like it would be a universally flattering nude - not too brown, too pink or too pale.

It's AWESOME with the lipliner in Soar.

And yes, Fresh Moroccan is an amazing color!

I have tons of MAC eye shadows. Love them. Still determined to find a good lipstick of theirs. The two I have:

Fast Play and Twig.

They looked like they would work at the Mac counter, but they are too pinky for me I have yellow undertones and medium toned skin, dark brown hair green eyes. any suggestions? (Nothing shimmery, I'm over 40) I also can't wear their mattes. They dry my lips out

this thread is going to cause me to go spend money.

I already did that at the MAC store. But I resisted and only spent $46. But I know I'll spend more at a later date...

Sometimes, for daily wear, I combine Soar liner and Twig lipstick. I call it my "Soap Opera Lip."

Viva Fresh Moroccan and Russian Red !!!!

I'm a blonde with sallow skin, but I sometimes need to be seen from the stage and am always struggling to find the right colors.

MAC's Fresh Moroccan and Russian Red are two of the most vivid lip colors I can wear without looking very pale by comparison (I bought 2 tubes of the Fresh Moroccan, just in case of any early discontinuation!)

Thanks a million to the Bhuzzers who turned me on to these colors via the Beauty and Costuming page!!!!

There are sooooooo many great colours, but not also does it depend on the persons skin tone, but the tone of their lips. Depending on the texture of the lipstick, different shades of lips determine the final colour of the lipstick once applied.

"Cosmo" is a great colour....works on most people. "Soar" is my favourite, favourite, favourite lipsliner......I always use it for shows!
Many say that "spice" is the ultimate neutral....it's not! Most peoples lips are not an orangy brown colour. Don't get me wrong....it's an amazing colour, but try "subculture" or "Dervish" for amore natural pink lip.

Not sure why but Subculture and Dervish just disappear on my lips and I have pale small lips (curse) so spice works pretty well and Buerre (Buerre is a just a bit darker than my lips so it looks very au natural). I am going to try Soar.
